Works great so far, replaced YL1200500 AC adapter.

Works great so far, replaced YL1200500 AC adapter.
This YL1200500 cable amplifier originally powered a 9-port Cable TV splitter amplifier that Time Warner Cable (now Spectrum) had installed at our house 9 years ago. We later "cut the cord" and got rid of our cable TV subscription and I mounted an outside over the air TV antenna and connected it to this same TV splitter, which distributed OTA TV throughout our house cable wiring. Everything worked fine until late last year when two channels from the furthest broadcast TV tower channels started cutting in an out intermittently. I initially blamed it on the Winegard preamplifier attached to the outdoor TV antenna and replaced it, but the problem continued.Eventually I figured out that it was really the power supply to the TV splitter amplifier, this YingJiao YL1200500. It was running really hot, and taking it off and letting it cool could bring it back to life. The thing is pretty heavy, indicating it has a pretty heavy duty iron core transformer inside. I was going to get another one of these on eBay, but then I saw this model on Amazon. Another review had indicated that this one was much lighter, which I didn't think was necessarily a good thing, until I saw the High Efficiency Level VI energy rating. That actually turns out to mean something! Less wasted power draw when the adapter is not being used!It turns out that these newer High Efficiency AC power adapters use the high frequency Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS). Instead of sending the high voltage low frequency (60Hz) first into a heavy duty transformer to step down into a low voltage low frequency current, the SMPS uses a transistor switch to convert the house AC current into a high frequency high voltage current that can then be run through a much more efficient low mass transformer to do the step down into a low voltage high frequency current. This is then converted into low voltage DC current. This is why these newer AC power adapters are so light, because they no longer need these big heavy transformers. These efficient SMPS power supplies were first used for computer power supplies, and now they are pretty standard circuitry for the multitude of small AC adapter bricks that we use for all our personal electronics.Anyway, so far so good. The TV channels are all back again.

Used as a replacement when my dog accidentally pulled the original out of the wall and it broke when it landed on the floor. I have Xfinity and no issues.

I have been very frustrated looking for an AC Adapter with a coaxial cable connectorfor my home internet needs. No electrical company, nor Walmart or Lowes have this in stock. Calling Cox Cable Communication to inquire if they had this adapter so I may use the services I pay for, but am not getting. Waste of time. My mistake was looking up, AC Adapter with cable connector. I ordered what appeared to be what I needed but was not. Finally, with help from someone more knowledgeable than me, I searched for AC adapter for amplifier. Bingo! 2 adapters by the same company was offered. I got the perfect one I needed with brand name, RELIANT. Thank you. P.S. I also checked ebay. On ebay lots of used adapters for same or more money. Thanks to Amazon, it arrived free shipping and returns within 3 days. Extremely grateful to amazon.

Got everything hooked up, plugged it into the wall and it did not work. Plugged it into a different socket and it still did not work. Could not receive any channels. It was like the box was not hooked up to an antenna. PIECE OF JUNK. Do not waste your money on it.

I had to find a replacement for the power adapter for our commscope passive, that was cracked. There aren't too many out there unless you purchase the whole kit again. I was happy to find this! I couldn't reuse the cable since it was stuck on the original one so I was able to use another rg6 and it works just fine with it. I also like the fact it has a light indicator.

I heard that you can use these to pick up HD TV signals using your house's wiring as an antenna. Not so much.
