This may be a comparatively expensive USB-C to HDMI adapter at $30 (when reviewed), but it's obviously a *huge* step up from others based on the supported specs and my tests. Very highly recommend if you have a use case for it!

Positives:
-No issues whatsoever no matter the devices I used this between.
-Flawlessly connected my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra directly to my Sony 8K Receiver with Dolby Atmos 7.2 audio and passthrough to my LG C2 65" TV and was able to get the full 4k 120hz, 12bpp, HDR image! Fantastic!
-Also connected my Asus ROG Ally to my Sony receiver, and got 4k 120Hz from it, though I'd not recommend 4k for most games. However, running emulators from the Ally to my TV was absolutely amazing as it can easily upscale everything to 4k and run the refresh at 120Hz effortlessly.

Considerations:
-Your mileage will vary on what you'll get out of this adapter. Your devices and cables must support this adapter's specs to get the most out of it.

Negatives:
-None, this just works.

Overall:
-Being able to connect my Samsung Ultra S24 Ultra and my Ally to my Sony receiver using this adapter is absolutely epic!

I've tried about 6 of these adapters and only one does all of what it claims to do but this one did come close. It does not cut the edges of the screen off like some adapters do and HDR and 4k 120hz also works, the only hitch with it is that I cannot get 120 hz unless my tablet is also plugged into power but other adapters work fine here.

The Plugable USB-C to HDMI Adapter is ideal for connecting monitors to Macs. It has a hefty build quality with some weight to it, featuring a smooth aluminum finish that's easy to carry in a backpack. While the cord is a bit short, the adapter is a simple plug-and-play device. It's smaller than my Satechi adapter and works similarly, with one caveat: although it advertises Thunderbolt 4, it actually uses DP 1.4, which consumes less bandwidth than HDMI 2.1 but it can still support 4K at 144Hz if your device permits. It's cheaper than the satechi so it's no a brainer to get this one, it's a reliable high quality video output with future proofing.

I like that this adapter is compact and in hotel rooms I can use it with my iPad Pro or iPhone 15 Pro to play content. On my iPad I can either mirror or extend the desktop to an additional monitor using this adapter. It works perfectly, all I need is an HDMI cable.

I don’t have an 8K device yet, but I’ve had no trouble connecting it to 4K devices. All works as expected: 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision Dolby Atmos, VRR and high refresh rates.

I even hooked it up to my gaming laptop and Samsung Super Ultrawide OLED monitor which has a resolution of 5120x1440 and a 240hz refresh rate. Again, everything worked as expected except HDR which was a little washed out, but I think that’s Windows for you, not the adapter. The adapter only says it supports 4K up to 144hz so I was excited to see that even 240hz worked without a hitch!

I’m not sure if it’s because this adapter supports newer technologies like USB4/Thunderbolt 4 but other USB-C to HDMI adapters that I have cannot support either the resolution, or the high refresh rate of my Samsung monitor.

Impressive, affordable, and compact USB-C HDMI adapter from Plugable! This is the one to get, I have no doubt it will work for whatever your needs are based on what I’ve seen so far!

1440p Ultrawide can often be more difficult to drive than standard 4k, and I can't get this adapter to fail. Primarily running from a 6800 XT's USB-C output on Ubuntu 23.10, running to an HDMI over CAT7 adapter. If it works with a setup that strange, you know it's reliable.

I also appreciate the simple, eco friendly packaging, and I'm looking forward to keeping this in mind when people ask for an HDMI adapter. It just works, and that's all I need.

This adapter is perfect for adding a monitor to my Dell XPS laptop, which - in all their infinite wisdom - Dell gave only two USB-C ports, and nothing else. This works perfectly for that. Now I just need a hub if I want to add another monitor and still charge it. But that's for when I have more space. For now this works great. It also works to hook up a display to my Samsung phone. It has solid metal contstruction as well so it should hold up for the long term. Overall no complaints!
