I was having trouble with pixelation on a few of my channels. I saw this item on Amazon thought I would give it a try.This item boosted my signal and eliminated pixelation. Also get about 58 channels instead of 40. I have five TVs connected to this system. Also connected a ground wire to the housing as seen in the picture. This is a great alternative to Dish or DirecTV local channels. I just plan to have over the air channels and a couple of streaming services still a lot less money than Dish Network, that always has a reason to why they raise their prices. I have a simple Yagi antenna mounted about 100 ft from my house out in the open area because I have a lot of trees around my house. I used quality RG 6 coax cable and quality fittings. I am in the Charlotte North Carolina market about 45 miles south of the city . I'm even picking up stations in Columbia South Carolina market with the directional antenna. I may upgrade the existing antenna to make my signal even stronger. You will not be disappointed with this product. I purchased a cheaper RCA booster before, it just didn't work. My advice spend the $50, do it right you'll have a better TV experience without the expensive satellite bill.

Details on my set up
- I live about 35 miles from the major network towers in my area
- I had one omni direction antenna mounted on my roof and pointed in the direction of the major towers (i now have two, more on that later)
- I have 5 TVs connected using the old cable company splitter box and cables
- Cable distances range from 20 feet to 100+ feet

For about 5 years now this on its own has worked for me, the exception being during bad weather and one channel in particular that was always hit or miss in working. I have been testing ways to fix the weather issues and get that one channel that is hit and miss and this seems to be doing the trick!

I like that the amplifier is built into the splitter itself, eliminating the need to add an inline booster of the signal before it enters a traditional splitter. This splitter is also built specifically to handle the amplified signal and to "turn off" unused splitter ports (which helps to increase the signal as well). If you are having issues getting a signal in this type of set up it is most likely the splitter and not the cables/antenna/tv's. I would encourage people to start here and then move out from the split to address issues with signal strength.

I did add a second antenna and "bonded" (using an antenna duplexer that has an LTE filter built in $20 on amazon) the signals together which is giving me an additional signal boost.

I am now able to get all of the channels regardless of the weather including that one that was always escaping me.

I can only attest to this products usefulness as it pertains to over the air HD antennas. I do not know how it does with traditional cable/satellite/broadband signals

I live in a near rural area and can receive some over the air signals clearly but I wanted more, as not all of the local channels were coming in clearly. I'm using an outdoor antenna mounted to a second floor window frame. It could be placed better bit it's convenient where it is. The antenna I'm using came with an unbranded amplifier that had an adjustment and with it I receive 25 channels including all the sub channels. That amplifier literally fell apart, so I ordered this unit to replace that original amp.

The build quality of this amplifier was far better than the one it was replacing-solid, well made metal housing, finished nicely and nothing loose or flimsy. This is the type of amp you'd find in the 1960's or 70's when electronics were made to last. It was easy to install and did a very good job of boosting my closest channels so they were crystal clear. Unfortunately, with this I only got 7 channels total from my new channel scan. I have no doubt this provided a clean signal, but I was missing some channels I had received previously. I did end up returning it, but if you're closer to the towers than I am this would be a good choice for a high quality amplifier.

Bought an outdoor antenna to put this on in the attic. Was the 2021 5 star antenna. Went from an antenna you just plugged into the tv to sticking one in the attic. When using a regular antenna was getting about 10 channels sometimes a little more. Put this with an antenna in the attic and the tv picked up over 100 channels. I'm not sure how many channels the antenna would get without this amplifier but I wasn't needing some extreme amplification because sometimes the channels come in worse with too much power. This is perfect for what I was after being over 100 miles from the broadcasts and down a hill with trees on top which blocks off reception. I'm about halfway between Dallas and Oklahoma City but still in Texas.
