Product Description
FlaxSeed Low Carb Bread
Try, Try, and.... Try Again!
The History
Flaxseed has been around since , but recently it’s been getting a lot of attention from health enthusiasts. The seeds are tiny but rich in omega-3 fatty acids, lignans, and fiber. In health terms, that means better digestion, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, lower risk of cancer, and lower blood sugar count for diabetics. If that wasn’t convincing enough, flaxseeds can make your skin look smoother and more radiant.
The Vision
At Shibolim there is great pride in bringing the best grains to market. Their researchers travel across terrains and through countrysides the world over to bring the best elements, nutrients, and taste to the market. They research and develop food grains so that people with dietary restrictions can have access to the best products in the grain production market.
Move Over Rye Bread Make Some Room for the New Classic
Try, Try, and Try Again
Shibolim began trying all kinds of flaxseed recipes, but every time, it would taste delicious for the first day or two but then lose its taste – and worse, the nutrients. At two weeks on the shelf, the bread was soft but tasteless. Their R&D team spent months in the lab and kitchen, and learned through trial and error, heavily investing in a bread they were determined to bring to market.
Finally The Magic Moment!
The Product
Finally, Shibolim hit on an incredible product. The flaxseeds are ground in the bakery so that from grinding to fresh-baked loaves takes all of three hours! The best part is that Shibolim’s flaxseed bread has a delicious taste and retains the flaxseeds original nutrient benefits and fresh texture for up to eight months!
Bread That Heals
With all the health benefits touted, they wanted to find out – how does this bread affect their consumer’s health? So they began a private research project at Tel Hashomer hospital in Tel Aviv, Israel. The experiment is still ongoing, but early results are in. Thirty diabetic children went on a carb-free diet and ate a slice of flaxseed bread each day. On average, the children went from needing between 12–14 insulin injections per day to 2 injections per day! And the children finally felt normal, being able to bring a sandwich to school like all their friends.
They are also hearing results from adults with astounding results. An elderly woman went from having liver malfunction to a fully functioning liver with a carb-free diet except for a slice of flaxseed bread every day. An overweight adult with high cholesterol joined a gym and went carb-free except for a slice of flaxseed bread every day. In 10 weeks he lost 37.4 lbs and his cholesterol tests came back normal.
One Flaxbread, Limitless Options
Naturally Long Lasting
Jackpot
Shibolim’s flaxseed bread offers a better way to live. It’s healthy, convenient, and delicious. They are proud to finally bring a fresh flaxseed bread to the market with a shelf-stable life of 8 months, and with a taste as delicious as when it is first baked (plus, no added sugar or oil). It’s authentic goodness – good for your tastebuds, good for your appearance, good for your health.

I got it for the health benefits. It has a chewy texture. Chewy in the sense of German Rye Breads. IF you like Flax, I think you will like this. Taste is a personal thing. Some people like coffee, for instance, and others can't stand it. (This does not taste like coffee, just an illustration).
For me, it tastes pretty good. It is a French Baguette sized Loaf. It makes for small sandwiches. I will probably be ordering more. Normally I order German Rye Bread. [Update, I have ordered now several times now). Anyway, it is a small long loaf. Sliced. I like the taste. Soft, fresh.
As far as packaging goes, Amazon is kind of funny how they pack things. The non-breakables are often put in boxes. Like my cardboard office envelopes were shipped in a box. While bread that can be squished is placed in a soft plastic bag. The loaf came in a plastic air-bubble envelope, which was placed in my Mail box. [Update, normally the bread comes in a padded envelope. It survives it all well, though the most recent time, Amazon did ship it in a Box, which is better.]
No damage done, I think the bread is flexible enough to be squished. But Amazon should have shipped it a Box with padding. I order a lot of things from Amazon and have about a small percentage is damaged or dented. Most I never return.
Anyway, it is a good bread. A nutty taste, just had a sandwich with it for lunch. I don't like Onions, or beets or Broccoli, yet lots of people love those things. So, I am picky, I love exotic breads. So it is that category.
To me, it has a really good taste!! Kinda of a nutty taste. Pretty good considering, like German Rye breads it is shipped from overseas. Personally, I would recommend giving it a try.
But when toasted it tastes like cod liver oil.
And the slices are extremely small. As you see from the photo the slices are about 1/4 to 1/3 the size of a regular slice of bread, which mean this very expensive loaf equals only about 6-7 slices of bread.
So.. bad taste accompanied by small, super expensive slices.
No thanks. Wish I could return it.
