    At first I thought this didn't work. Maybe it was my outlet or something, but it seems to be working fine now. It took a little practice, I was frustrated the first few times i used it, but it turns out that was just a skill issue. I will say there are a few tips that I've found that have been helpful:
    1. I prefer to pull plastic from a sacrificial part of whatever I'm repairing. It's the right stuff. When possible I like this approach.
    2. Start slow. My first problem was trying to melt through too much and put too much on and I just ended up with a goopy mess.
    3. I like the little metal pieces that attach to the gun more than the mesh, they seem to work better for the parts that need them (which was frequently the case for what I was repairing).

    My basic process for repairing a tab on my bumper was this:
    1. Cut out a sacrificial piece that's the right size. I used tin snips, worked well but I'm sure there are better tools (they were much easier than when I tried with an exacto knife though).
    2. Use the metal tape on the underside to keep the piece in place.
    3. *Lightly* use the gun to just barely melt the plastic at the edges to where it's gently held in place.
    4. Attach the staples to the gun and then put them on the joints and heat them up and get them just below the surface (don't try to go too deep). It helps here once you're at the right depth to let go of the trigger but hold it in place until things start to cool.
    5. Cut the edges of the staple.
    6. Get another bit of sacrificial plastic and put that over the staple and heat it up to cover up the staples.

    This is a solid plastic welder. Already used it for a few projects to fixing cracks, to fully welding back on plastic pieces.

    It heats up quick and you can get to work in a few minutes. Haven’t had any issues with it overheating for longer jobs.

    My only negatives, is that it comes with one style plastic melter and in some cases it would be nice to have different shapes to be able to do a better job. The other thing is that the back end of it does get quite hot. Also the snips and the utility knife it comes with are not great. Specially the utility knife. It pretty much doesn’t function. Also the little light on the welder is only useful for letting you know it’s on and heating.

    Otherwise it comes with quite of bit of accessories that should last you for some time, to do multiple jobs. Comes with a lot of black, grey, white, and clear sticks.

    Used this plastic repair gun to fix the cracks in my Harley Saddlebag back plate. With all the vibration and just two small bolts holding the saddlebags on, you get some stress cracking. I just stitched them back together using this kit. My only gripe is the smoothing attachment likes to fall off in use. Wish there was a way to secure it besides a pressure fit. Otherwise this is a nice comprehensive kit.

    We were very happy with the product when it arrived. Plenty of staples and plastic sticks were provided. The product seems nice and sturdy also. We were however very disappointed when we used it because the interior transformer got damaged on first use. The reason for this is that the gun happened to be a 110V type when in my country the mains is of 220V. There is no indication on the product information page or purchase page that this gun is of the 110V type because in such a case we would have ensured to buy a gun which was compatible with the 220V mains of our country!
