    Don't waste your money
    This speaker is very small and doesn't have good sound quality. As you watch in my video, it's like a small box and only has radio and Bluetooth like normal speakers, so why would you pay more than 160$ for auch a low quality box. Also this is not a rechargeable speaker, so it needs to be plugged in all tge time. Don't waste your money.

      This is my 4th Grace Digital radio...all different models...and all still working great. I live in a rural area with very poor AM and FM reception and those stations that are available I do not really care for. So I took a chance about 8 years ago, at age 63, and bought the lowest priced of their radios and found it was the best radio I ever had that offered virtually any type of genre I wanted...including podcasts. So pleased I bought the next level up and eventually stepping up 2 more times. I and my wife use them all everyday at home as well as at work. They all have very good sound, but I think the wood cabinets have the best. I bought this latest one because I wanted one that had a very small footprint for a very small table and put it to work the day I received it. Setup was easy as with all the previous ones. I am so pleased with Grace Digital radios that I want one near me whenever I can for as long as I can...if I ever have to go to a nursing home, they will have to have WiFi so I can connect my radio to it.

      This is my 4th Grace Digital radio and 3rd model. The large number of available internet stations and podcasts, and the number of builtin 3rd party services makes this a very capable radio. You can also add your own streams using the manufacturers website. The radio supports 100 presets.

      I read some of the negative reviews and I think they are due to a misunderstanding of what this device is. Amazon lists it as a "speaker" and not a "radio". If all you want is a "speaker", then it's true that there are cheaper options. But if you're interested in a "radio", you won't find anything better. The brand costs more than the others, but you get what you pay for.

      Many manufacturers were burned by the Reciva shutdown, and many migrated to Skytunes instead, which makes them dependent on another 3rd party aggregator. Grace Digital invested in developing its own firmware and aggregator database, so their radios are no longer dependent on 3rd parties. Grace also continues to improve the firmware and adds new features, so the radios are well supported.

      For those complaining about lack of Android, well, this isn't a cellphone and it isn't meant to be an Android device. You can't add your own apps, but do look at the number of services that are included natively with the radio. There are several and you can use the radio without a dependency on a cellphone. If you're hooked on your cellphone then this product isn't for you.

      Chromescast is included as a bonus, but using it is optional. The radio operates just fine as a standalone, but you have the option of casting from a phone app if you choose. If you have a Google Home device or a Google Assistant device like a cellphone, you can operate the radio by using voice commands. The radio itself does not have a microphone so it cannot listen to you. But using it via the Google environment limits the radio in my opinion. I find that the radio has more usefulness working in the Grace Digital environment. Grace does have a very useful and easy to use cellphone/tablet app that you can use to control the radio, and it also comes with a remote and batteries for the remote.

      For those questioning the speaker quality, it's worth noting that most streams are low quality to begin with, and even the best speakers won't sound good with a low bitrate stream. That's the nature of streaming.

      The radio can store connection information for multiple WiFi sources, and the radio connects very quickly. The antenna is builtin so there are no cumbersome external antennas. The alarm and sleep timer functions have many options.

      For the price, if you want a radio, you can't do better.

      I like this Mondo Alto speaker set from Grace Digital. I've owned an original Grace Mondo since 2015 that lives in a spot on my bookshelf to listen to some radio stations from my hometown. The Mondo Alto is an upgrade from that for sure, even the Alto it has a bit of a retro appearance and some of the hardware is a bit dated for 2023.

      I think the Mondo Alto looks quite nice as a bookshelf speaker unit in a study or office area. The 5 foot long cable on the 18 volt/2 amp power adapter is adequate, but it looks like a 5.5mm x 2.1mm DC extension cable could be used if you need more length. I've done a lot of testing in single-speaker mode but hooking up the 2nd speaker (just via traditional speaker wire that's included) helps build up more resonance. The music playback can get fairly loud, but I think the treble is on the thin side compared to my entertainment center's 2 way bookshelf speakers. That's perfectly fine in an office environment when you don't really crank up music but it's not going to replace my home theater setup.

      The interface feels very familiar, as someone that's experienced with older Grace Digital radios, but there's also more options to customize colors and tweak the menu styles a bit too. Things have been improved with your ability to add radio stations via link and Grace Digital taking control of the station database. The screen brightness and Bluetooth connectivity version are kind of dated nowadays, but they still work in my experience.

      When I originally started my evaluation, the GD Connect app was out of date and could not be setup on my pixel phone due to it using a newer version of android. In late November the app was updated and it now works with my pixel. I still think the rotary knobs and buttons on the control panel are the best controls to use but do like to take the remote with me when I'm sitting more than an arm's length away.

      With the recent markdown of this two speaker system to below $200, I think it's a pretty good value for an internet radio you can put in your bedroom or study. It sounds better than a portable BT speaker I own, but not as good as my larger entertainment center with two and three-way speakers. I like the retro/mid-century modern look to it too.

      This is my 2nd Grace radio.
      We wanted something we could use on our snack bar area for streaming local fm stations that stream, along with the ability to get Iheart radio, and Sirius XM, as we have the streaming service available.
      This Grace radio works excellent for all of our needs, and has great sound also
