    I love this. First of all, it's way sharper than the very old one I had been using. I especially like that it uses an electrical cord that plugs into a wall outlet (be sure to use a heavy duty extension cord), instead of needing to be charged up constantly. And - I used it for an hour, and the plug did not come out of the connector, which was a major problem with my old one. It's lightweight and somewhat small, so easy to hold and maneuver by this 95lb female. I could even hold it with one hand to reach certain areas. I'm using it to trim Asian jasmine and small tree seedlings, and light shrubbery, and it works super well. I have a feeling it would cut larger stems, too. Very happy.

    I recently purchased my first house and needed some tools for lawn care. The previous owners allowed
    the hedges to go a little too crazy in shape and began to protrude past portions of the garage which
    would scratch against our cars.

    I added some hedge shears for $30 into my cart and was about to purchase it as I figured electric would
    be too expensive. I was extremely surprised to see the BEHT100 listed for $37 with free shipping. I
    figured the worst-case scenario is that the BEHT100 is not the greatest, but for only $7 more I would give it a shot. Plus, it seemed to have good reviews.

    The box arrived and unfortunately the weather was not cooperating. Much to the annoyance of my
    fiancée I got to pretend to be Tim “the Tool Man” Taylor while opening it up and pretending to give the
    cat a haircut. Neither were amused. That’s when I noticed it did not come with a cord.

    So just a heads up that you need to either have an extension cord or buy one. I purchased a 16AWG
    50FT cord for ~$17 which works great. Plus, it will come in handy later on in life.

    Finally, the weather was nice, and I got to test it out. The instructions did showcase how to best use it,
    but I did elect to watch some YouTube videos as well. Overall, I was more than satisfied with the performance, especially compared to the price. I added some before and after photos. Photo of the product leaned up against a gallon of paint for a size reference.

    It is easy to operate one handed and still manipulate the Lock Off button with your thumb and activate
    the trigger with your hand. The result looks pretty good too for a first timer. There were a few larger
    branches that didn’t cut as well, but I believe they were larger than the recommended cutting size. I was
    able to break them off and continue finishing the job.

    My initial impression has been great overall and I look forward to getting to use it more often next
    summer! I hope to be able to edit this review later on to have more experience on the reliability & longevity of the product, but for now I have no complaints.

    Cost Efficient Solution with Good Results

    I recently purchased my first house and needed some tools for lawn care. The previous owners allowed
    the hedges to go a little too crazy in shape and began to protrude past portions of the garage which
    would scratch against our cars.

    I added some hedge shears for $30 into my cart and was about to purchase it as I figured electric would
    be too expensive. I was extremely surprised to see the BEHT100 listed for $37 with free shipping. I
    figured the worst-case scenario is that the BEHT100 is not the greatest, but for only $7 more I would give it a shot. Plus, it seemed to have good reviews.

    The box arrived and unfortunately the weather was not cooperating. Much to the annoyance of my
    fiancée I got to pretend to be Tim “the Tool Man” Taylor while opening it up and pretending to give the
    cat a haircut. Neither were amused. That’s when I noticed it did not come with a cord.

    So just a heads up that you need to either have an extension cord or buy one. I purchased a 16AWG
    50FT cord for ~$17 which works great. Plus, it will come in handy later on in life.

    Finally, the weather was nice, and I got to test it out. The instructions did showcase how to best use it,
    but I did elect to watch some YouTube videos as well. Overall, I was more than satisfied with the performance, especially compared to the price. I added some before and after photos. Photo of the product leaned up against a gallon of paint for a size reference.

    It is easy to operate one handed and still manipulate the Lock Off button with your thumb and activate
    the trigger with your hand. The result looks pretty good too for a first timer. There were a few larger
    branches that didn’t cut as well, but I believe they were larger than the recommended cutting size. I was
    able to break them off and continue finishing the job.

    My initial impression has been great overall and I look forward to getting to use it more often next
    summer! I hope to be able to edit this review later on to have more experience on the reliability & longevity of the product, but for now I have no complaints.

    The BLACK+DECKER Electric Hedge Trimmer, 17-Inch (BEHT150) was purchased during July of 2020 for the price of $34.99 plus tax. It's now available for the price of $40.81 plus tax (December 2024).

    I purchased this BLACK + DECKER Electric Hedge Trimmer because the amount of work necessary to complete the tasks with manual hedge shears was entirely too much. I just didn't have the time.

    Nonetheless, this product performed just as one would hope. Although it's absolutely essential to have a very long extension cord, is extremely easy to use, not heavy, and hasn't required sharpening during the time it's been used so far...which has been slightly more than 4 years.

    There's very little else that I can write about this product except to state: the comparative lightness of this product is a huge advantage when compared with a fuel propelled hedge trimmer. The amount of work necessary to adequately trim hedges is not trivial. The difference in the weight of an electric trimmer, and one fueled by an accelerant, is significant. So, whenever possible, use the electric trimmer.

    When, and if necessary, I would make this purchase again.

    Perfecto para podar setos, arboles pequeños e incluso hasta pasto.

    No incluye cable (pero es muy barato), corta muy bien incluso corta ramas más gruesas de lo indicado cuando se usa de ambos lados de la rama para ir desgastando, relativamente buenos materiales, ligera de usar. Por el momento se mantiene afilada y sin problemas después de unas 5 o 6 sesiones de un par de horas cada una, espaciadas en algunos meses.

    Muy recomendable. Gran diferencia de facilidad y tiempo de uso contra unas tijeras de podar.

    Compre 2 corta cetos, el más chico yo sabía que no venía con el cable. El segundo de 20 pulgadas lo anuncian que viene con cable, lo cual es mentira, llego sin cable. Aún así son productos muy serviciales para uso doméstico. Fácil de usar.

    I have several shrubs around my garden that need to be kept trimmed. I was leary when purchasing a smaller lenght trimmer as was worried I would be spending too much time on one shrub. As it turned out-this trimmer is perfect for quick trimming. Its light, giving my wrists a great break, so I was able to have excellent control while trimming.
