--Dig a hole in the sand, then bury the sandbags.

2. Used on the grass

--Fill the sandbags with stone and install ground nails into the ground.

How to set up the beach pop up tent?

1. Lay out your tent.

2. Fill the sandbags with sand if you use it on the beach. Or fill the sandbags with stone, and set them in place with grass pegs if you are using it on grass. (Fill the sandbags with more sand for increased anchoring)

3. Unfold poles, prop 2-4 under the tent (depending on the group size) and tie the ball.

Note: It is recommended to rotate to install or remove the poles.

4. Insert the 4 poles into the sand one by one. Adjust the position of the sandbags and straighten the poles to the most stable state. (Avoid slanting the poles into the sand, as it may make it less stable)

5. Dig a deep hole and bury the sandbag in the sand.

6. Sit back, relax and enjoy the shade.

When the sun goes down, the oblique sunlight causes the shadow area to become smaller. Change the direction of canopy for shade with 2 poles.

    Pros: Very easy set-up and take down. Also lightweight and convenient with its own case for carrying. Can probably fit easily as a ‘personal item’ for travel on flights too. Keeps the heat out, but have only used it on the beach with nice winds/breeze so far. Holds up well with breezes/wind

    Cons: Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is it doesn’t seem like the uvb protection is very good. Feels like a sun umbrella has better protection (we stayed under this tent fully shaded but still got sun burned. If you look up while under the tent you can also tell that it is thin/see-through as the sun shines right though). If this product had a stronger uvb coating this would be perfect.

    Just be careful putting poles together. We got sand in ours and had to abandon two sticks cuz we couldn't take them apart to put in our luggage.
    Make sure you fill the legs entirely with sand for a strong hold against strong winds and bury the legs.

    I felt like I was taking a chance on this product and I’m really happy with it. I’ve used it for a 1 week vacation in 2023 and now a 1 week vacation in 2024. This tent is perfect for people with small kids because other tents are heavier and this tent gives a big area of useable shade.

    The tent is holding up well, in general. The poles are a little hard to get together because they have sand in them now. I’m guessing a little wd40 or even just a straw cleaner would be helpful.

    Some tips: fill the bags VERY full with sand and then stretch out as far as they can go before putting the poles in. There is a little bit of a learning curve while putting it up.

    I would absolutely buy this tent again. I expect it will last at least one more summer (if not more!).

    Not quite what is advertized...
    First day at the beach it took about 45 minutes and 3 sides caving in at a time before i got the flimsy thing to stand up. The tent then collapsed when the weight bags pulled out of the sand they were buried in. The people beside us offered to assist holding it while securing. Added water-packed sand to the bags and it held a bit better.
    Second day at the beach I could not get the cover tight enough to not hit us in the head while SITTING under it, kept having to zip tie the ends and additionally fold each corner several times to stay still and not flop around so much. The material apparently had to stretch itself out and gave it so much more play.
    Third, fourth, and fifth days at the beach, we decided the tent was too much of a pain to maintain while trying to enjoy quality family time, we used chair umbrellas instead.
    When we got home I took the tent out to clean it in the yard and used the provided pegs to anchor it. Those proved to be too flimsy to hold the tent up, one of the pegs broke in two places while trying to sink it in the ground so I had to use a peg of my own. One of the corners has a small rip from having to fold it up and zip tie it so much on the beach. It rained right after trying to clean the sand off in the yard and 3 out of 4 sides have collapsed, it can't hold the moisture and it gets too heavy for the small posts, and the pegs come flying out of the ground like trebuchets - sending pegs and mud to the other side of the yard.
    This might be a good tent with better structure support and tie-downs, the sand bags should be a bit heavier to keep wind from pulling them out of the ground, and it needs more sturdier pegs to sink in the ground for non-beach use.
    I can't say I'd recommend this one, especially for the price I paid.

    This sun shelter is light and easy to set up. The one suggestion I can make is to offer a 5th pole when the conditions are windy. This shelter will flap in the wind and in a strong wind, flap a lot but even in a strong wind the shelter held up with some slight modifications. For light or strong wind you take the front edge of the fabric and fold it back over the top of the poles. For strong winds you won't really need the 2 back poles because the wind will hold the fabric up. Use one or both of the back poles on the front edge of the fabric. These 2 steps will mostly eliminate the flapping. We have the 10 x 10 shelter which is a bit crowded for 6 people. If I had it to do again, I would spend the extra 20 bucks and get the large unit if you have more than 4 people. The packed-up size is light and pretty small- very easy to carry. We used the unit for 3 full days in a strong wind and it held up fine for those 3 days. We used sunscreen even under the shelter because it still felt like the we were getting UV heat while sitting under it. No burns because we used sunscreen, not sure what would happen without sunscreen. Overall, I was very happy with this product.

    Fantastic this tent works amazing on BC beaches! We put it up actually on a very windy day and only had to adjust the weight once by burying the sand feet under the sand. We love this It also helps defining your space on the beach no one runs their frisbee or ball through you!

    I’m glad we choose this model with 4 poles to give us maximum height. I especially like that it comes in a carry bag that includes 2 sand scoops to fill the weight bags with. There’s enough room in the bag for my 10 x 10 blanket to stuff in there as well.
