Rocketbook is a great product
I purchased my Rocketbook initially as a gift for a friend. I then decided to buy one for myself; that was a great decision on my part. It’s a great opportunity, especially for writers, or anyone who takes lots of notes, to capture them in a place that can be saved either to email or synced to the cloud or wherever you choose to have it sent. I love it, and I highly recommend it. It’s important that you (1) get extra pens. You need to use only a FriXion Pen so you can easily erase the pages. One pen comes with it, but the ink will eventually dry out. You can buy a Rocketbook accessory kit, which includes additional pens; and (2) allow sufficient time for the pen ink to bond to the page after you write your notes. The instructions say allow about 15 seconds. But I find it takes about 45 seconds to one minute. I’m happy with my Rocketbook, and anyone else who gets it will be happy as well. My friend told me he likes it too. It’s money well spent, and it is much better than some of the more expensive Smart notebooks. This one does the job beautifully.

    There is so much that I like about this item. I love how sturdy the cover is, I love that I can write my class notes, take a picture, then erase the page and start again. When writing, you can select the file that you want that page to go to. Everything ends up on my computer. No mess, and no lost pagers. Such a great idea.

    The only reason I have to give a negative review is the lack of sturdiness and durability. Although the pages are of a bit heavier weight than a sheet of paper, the rings that hold the paper are rather long slender. The piece of the page that is in the metal ring is only about 5/8" long and about 3/5" wide. It is possible that the ring is too small to allow the pages to be turned easily. It is quite a tight fit, and just turning the page caused one side of the strips of paper just outside the ring tears. I used it for a couple of weeks in class, but more of the pages would tear. I then ordered a replacement. I tried to reinforce the page, but the small ring didn't allow for much reinforcement. The pages have a slick finish finish, so glue didn't adhere the items I used.

    I liked the product well enough to try to make it work for me. But even though I added very thin pieces of packaging tape and extended it past the fragile part of the paper, I still have pages that tore.

    I hope that the company is aware of the fragility of the paper design. I don't know what it would cost to reinforce that side of the page before cutting holes and sealing the pages in the narrow rings. With the narrow metal tubes and how tightly the pages already fit, it may require that they go a little wider on the ring and assure that the pages are encased loosely enough that the pages turn easily.

    When I received the Rocketbook pro I used the pen for one day and when I tried it again the next day the pen was dried up. Scratchy writing compared with my other pens of the same make.
    Not satisfactory at all for a new order. Disappointed as I have had other pens recently that worked fine.

    I purchased the Pro 2.0 for the added features and look of the book. After using it for a month, two of the pages have a torn from one of the rings. The NFC feature has never worked properly. It is much faster for me to open the app on my phone then to try to tap the tag to open the app. And the pages insert easily detaches from the binder, sometimes when using.
    From my experience, the Pro 2.0 is not worth the higher price point than the standard book.

    Likes - it looks sleek and professional. Uploading documents is fast and easy. The app is user friendly. It’s super convenient.
    Dislikes - the pen it comes with isn’t my favourite, it tends to skip and my writing isn’t neat. I ordered the Frixion Bold 1.0 pen and I like that much better on this particular paper. The paper is smooth like plastic. And its indented from the pen.
    Overall I will likely use this before any other notebook again. It’s exactly what I needed to keep all my files electronic. I just don’t like that pen to paper feel it has.
