I ordered this despite all the bad reviews hoping I would get lucky or my experience would be different, but it was actually worse and doomed from the get go. The box was supposed to be delivered upright, which it was when Amazon took the delivery photo, but when I retrieved it from my doorstep it was facedown. There was a massive hole in the box, like a person or animal tore through it. However all parts were accounted for. There was a roadblock during assembly that stopped me from putting the bike together, even though I am very handy, have every fancy tool available and had someone else take a second look. These issues must’ve stemmed from the manufacturing process. The screws are not delivered in a separate bag, they are already assembled on the bike, you have to remove them, then screw them back on as you put the bike together. The front fender screw head was COMPLETELY stripped. I tried several methods, but there was no way to remove it. This bike should’ve been scrapped during the manufacturing process but it appears there is no quality control. Yes, I could ride without a front fender, but that is not what I paid for...Other issues were cosmetic and caused by the packaging and delivery process: bike is packed very tightly into a small box. There were dents and dings all over the fenders. Numbers on the gearshift handlebar were smudged. I could’ve overlooked this if the price tag wasn’t so high but I don’t have $450 to throw at a bike that looks used and run over…These are NOT the Schwinn bikes we knew when we were kids that were indestructible. They are now made in China, feel flimsy and look cheap. At glance this bike looks like it should’ve only been $100 or less, not the $450 I paid after taxes. I’m really disappointed.I did contact Schwinn directly, and they advised me to return the bike. They could not send me replacement parts in this case. Waste of time, waste of money. I have to go in store to find a decent bike. At least the color was nice and Amazon picked up the return directly from my house.

I read reviews and was not surprised by this bike. It is built solidly as I would expect from Schwinn and was not crazy hard to put together. I did have to adjust the derailer and it was simply a matter of turning 2 screws. Instructions are in the manual for everything you need to know and there is a customer support number provided as well.

Ride quality was good. Seat is comfortable, though the seat is white so shows dirt easily. Brakes were noisy at first but after several rounds of not hard braking I was able to build up enough on the rims that they are quiet now. Gears shift easily after the easy adjustment.

I purchased accessories including a basket for the front and it was easy to fit these as the design can accommodate a large basket in front.

My bike did have some scuffing (can easily buff out) and a few minor dings. I plan on contacting Schwinn to see if they make a touch up kit like you would get for a car. This does not bother me as it was overall I'm good shape upon arrival.

It does include wheel and front/rear reflectors which is something I wondered before I got it. Tires needed minor inflation so be prepared for that.

I will update my review if anything changes, but I am happy with the Perla. The "blue" is definitely a mint/sea foam color which is my favorite. I recommend the bike!

Update 12/12/23 - Schwinn was excellent, they immediately jumped on the issues and replacement parts are already on the way! The bike seems to be pretty good quality, with great paint finish.

I just unboxed (on 12/10/23) a schwinn that I bought for my wife as a Christmas present. We got it all assembled, and when we inflated the tires, the rear inner tube exploded. Oh well, stuff happens, went to Walmart and bought a new tube figuring that would be easier than waiting for one from Schwinn. After installing it we realized that the rim is badly bent and need to be replaced. There's no impact marks and the box wasn't damaged, it's just made wrong. I have reached out to Schwinn but unless they approve a replacement for the rear rim I'm stuck giving my wife an unrideable bike for Christmas.

This bike is literally a death trap. I've had several bike experts at different stores fix it, and I personally built it, and it keeps falling apart. It was poorly created and has been a beautiful disappointment in my life. The first time I jumped on it to ride it, a pedal snapped off and I had to replace it because the metal broke. The second time I jumped on, the bike seat fell off immediately. The third time I rode it, I found both tires were flat, despite not being flat the day before. The tires have been constantly going flat on me since I bought it, but they only go flat at random times. Please keep in mind, I weigh 130 pounds, so there is no reason for the air to disappear this fast. I constantly struggle to keep the real derailleur adjusted because it looses adjustment so fast. The fourth time I rode it in the cold weather and the damn handlebars kept falling, initially causing me to hit my face when the bars gave out. I have tightened the screw to keep the bars from falling, and asked many stronger people to do this, and nothing works. My biggest regret is that I didn't return it within the first 30 days. I kept telling myself that it would eventually be completely fixed, but this bike is haunted. Also, the thought of trying to return a bicycle to Amazon after building it seemed pretty daunting. During the few times I've been able to ride this bike without parts breaking, it is extremely uncomfortable and makes me regret getting on it. I've had nice mountain bikes before, and I fully regret going with this piece of junk.

Please do yourself a favor and save up money to buy a nicer bike NOT on Amazon... This purchase makes me extremely upset every time I look at the bike.

I love the look of the bicycle however, it took my husband an entire day to put it together... It is not easy because what needs to be put together has to be perfect otherwise could be very dangerous. The ride is smooth but the brakes do not work at all... One of the brake part is touching the white part of the tire and we tried everything to correct it but it does not stay in place... The worse problem is the handlebar which does not stay in position as you ride... A little pressure on it and it becomes loose... Yes I take the tool with me when I ride to be able to tighten the screw around the handlebar but it never stay and that is so dangerous!! Too bad I love this bike but one has to think about being cautious with it all the time.

Very nice bike. The wife loves it, the aqua color is beautiful and the paint looks to be of good quality. Assembly was fairly easy, if you are mechanically inclined. It shifts very smoothly and the breaks are very good also. The handle bars are very comfortable for older people who likes to sit up and not have to lean over to hold to it. The seat is very comfortable also, not so narrow and somewhat soft. The cons are, if you plan to carry the bike on a bike rack, be aware it is a steel bike and fairly heavy. I'm am a gentleman of age, and it's a little heavy to lift the bike and put on our carrier that is mounted to our camper. I was aware the bike is made of steel before I purchased, so I'm not complaining.

We paid to have the bike assembled, so did cost extra but it is a great bike. It is bigger than I anticipated, at 5'1 it's a bit tricky to get on and off. Rides great, seat and handle bars are comfortable. The pink colour was what we were looking. So far, great bike.

My last purchase on Amazon was this bike. It's terrible, the quality is disgusting. The front wheel is crooked like 8. It is impossible to fix the steering wheel to be sure that it will not fall off along the way. A lot of money for such a cheap thing. I had to buy it at Walmart. I'm very sorry.
