Customers find the pool vacuum effective, noting it works better than other models and goes above water lines for thorough cleaning. The device is easy to set up and use, and customers appreciate its ability to climb walls and pick up debris, including fine sand and dirt. Durability and value for money receive mixed reviews - while some say it lasts a long time and is worth the price, others report it breaking within 60 days and consider it overpriced. The vacuum's traction is problematic, with customers reporting frequent issues getting stuck on steps and corner benches.

No pool cleaner is perfect but...

No pool cleaner is perfect but...
After reading literally hundreds of reviews, I purchased a cordless pool cleaner - it got 35 five star reviews on Amazon and none less than that! I was impressed. I turned off the pump so it wouldn't get stuck on the (raised) drain. It got stuck. It got stuck on the stairs as well. In both cases, it got free after some effort. The problem with these cordless cleaners is that they are power limited because of the battery and freeing itself gobbles up energy. The cleaner also struggled to get up the walls. Plan B was to purchase the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus with WiFi, based on the reviews. In choosing a cleaner I considered the size and shape of my pool because it became clear to me from the reviews that one size doesn't fit all, i.e., a great cleaner for one pool might be terrible for another. I have a lap pool that measures 45 x 7.5 feet, is about four feet deep throughout, and has stairs on one end. I have used the Nautilus CC Plus three times. My pool doesn't get a lot of leaves or debris so I don't need a large basket. The provided baskets are more than ample. My biggest problem is the junk that collects at the waterline so I had hopes that this robot would be helpful. The Frequently Asked Questions, included in the documentations, answered the question, "Does my Dolphin clean the waterline? Answer: The cleaner is designed to climb the walls, but does not reach the waterline". See attached video. This does exactly what I need it to do. Obviously, they need to hire a better marketing person. This robot does not get stuck over the raised drain with the pump running and drawing water from the pool. It climbs the steps (seems to love them) but will occasionally get stuck on a step or in a corner, but it releases itself, and because this is tethered you don't have to worry about draining a battery. It also has considerable power and thrust for climbing the walls and stairs due to it drawing current from the power supply. My only concern is the wear and tear on the paddles/fins, whatever, when it gets stuck as sometimes they keep spinning against my PebbleSheen surface before releasing. Time will tell. I have not been able to pair it with either my iPhone or iPad but I have contacted the company in hopes that they can solve the problem. If not, this is not a game changer for me. Finally, just put it in the water and walk away. I found myself getting stressed and yelling at it, "Why are you attacking the stairs? You haven't touched the other end of the pool? Why do you keep going over the same area?" I thought that this was supposed to be smart and map out the pool but it didn't appear to be doing anything intelligent. I finally went away and when I came back it had covered the whole pool and picked up everything. The robot does not have a memory so every cleaning is a new experience, like a goldfish doing a swim around the fishbowl and forgetting the last pass. Cleaning the filters is a breeze. See the photo of the debris that it picked up on its first use. You can spend a lot more for a pool robot but at this price I highly recommend this cleaner. Update: I have now had this robot for a while and am still very happy with it. The customer service has been excellent. After a few emails back and forth about the WiFi not working they decided to send a new power supply. That fixed the problem. With the Dolphin app on your phone you can turn the robot on and off and schedule it to clean every day or two other options. Unfortunately, you cannot control the robot. This would be useful as it did get stuck a couple of times, and rather than wait for it to free itself (it was taking a long time on the raised drain or step) I decided to free it manually. Perhaps in the future they might add more capability to the app so you could get the robot free without having to intervene manually. I would love to be able to tell it to reverse when it headed to my steps. In conclusion, I stand by my recommendation about the efficacy of the robot and now can add that they have great customer service. Update 7/24/24. The customer service person suggested that I moved the floats closer to the robot, which might alleviate the robot getting stuck on the stairs. I moved the closest one and this seems to have helped. I just purchased pleated filters, which are for finer debris and not included when you buy the robot. I was skeptical but I thought that I would try them. I first cleaned the pool with the filters that are supplied. Immediately afterwards I put the pleated filters in for another cleaning cycle. They picked up really fine material that the standard filter missed. When I rinsed the pleated filter it looked like mud was coming out of them. So these really work. I would not recommend using them without using the coarser filters first because some large particles get stuck in the pleats and not all of them will rinse out easily with a hose so you have to manually separate the pleat to get them out. That being said, there were only a few of these particles so it was no big deal. The robot continues to work very well. I always remove it from the pool when done as I've read that the robot and cable will deteriorate faster if you leave it in the water, however that's for a very long period of time so it's up to you if you want to leave it in the pool and have it come on a particular schedule.

The bottom drain of our pool doesn’t work well, so even with one of those pump driven cleaners, the pool looked dirty pretty much every day of the week except the day the pool cleaners came. This cleaner totally solved the problem. Sucks up all the dirt and debris that falls in the pool from the tree above and flowerbeds all around. I’ve only had it for a couple of days, but super happy so far. Only negative is that it can get stuck on the steps in the pool, so I will have to help it out when that happens. That said, it was 100% worth the price.

    18x36 inground pool
I received my Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaner a few days ago and finally got time to set it up and test it out. First off let me say that I've had a couple "automatic" pool vacuums in the past and hated them both. All they would do is get stuck in a corner and I'd end up cleaning the pool myself. But, with my wife's insistence and having read many reviews here I decided to give it a go. Starting with packing, no complaints here, it was well package and had no shipping damage and unboxing was easy. Setup and instructions: no complaints here either. Setup was a snap, plug the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaner into the control box, plug the control box into the outlet and put the Robot into the pool. Whoops, missed a step, uncoil and untangle the long cord which is also easy.

Ok, so now that it's in the pool it's time to turn it on. I press the power button and rush over to the pool with full expectations of being disappointed. The Robot moved forward about 3 feet and stopped! Here we go I thought, another so called robot device I've wasted my money on. But then it started moving again so I calmed myself down and decided to be patient and watch.

I drove across the bottom of the deep end and started going op the slanted side but slipped back down. Then it backed up and tried again, this time it went up the slanted side to the straight up wall where is failed to climb and slid back down. "SIGH", On the third attempt it climbed all the way up and poked it's front out of the water, all the while the scrubber wheels were spinning and scrubbing.

I watched it for at least 20 minutes and it went back and forth at different angles until it finally found the long ramp up to the shallow end where it climbed up and down more walls before heading back to the deep end. WOW, I'm impressed, but I wanted to reserve my final opinion until after it had a chance to clean the pool, so I gave it an hour and went back to check.

WOW, my pool is clean! Except for the very corners where it can't quite get to but that's not a problem. After all it hasn't yet finished it's first cycle of cleaning.

I'm impressed, I'm no longer a "pool robot skeptic" I'm now a "pool robot believer"
Yes this is only the first cleaning cycle, yes it's the only experience I have with the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaner but I'm still going to give it 5 stars. if anything notable changes I will update this review.

Yes I would recommend the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaner

    EDIT: 1 month Update:
Just wanted to update on how the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaner has been working so far. This morning was the first time I hade to vacuum the pool manually. There were 2 corners, 1 edge of the ramp to the dee[ end and the stairs that the robot missed.....that's it. All told I spent 10 minutes cleaning up where the robot missed and my pool is spotless! This is awesome and not a complaint!

How I use it: As per the instructions, I turn it on and set it to 1 which is the 7-day operation. But, I only run it on Monday through Saturday, then I pull it out of the pool until the next Monday and start the process over. So far this works great and I only have to clean the robots filter once a week and it gets a day to dry out and rest, lol!

Cons, I guess, but not really:
I've had to untangle the cable once, It doesn't climb stairs and I still have to manually vacuum for about 10 minutes. Some will find it heavy when lift it out of the water but you don't need to do that every day.

Pros, IT CLEANS THE POOL!!! The filter is great and cleans up in minutes.

My only concern is that is becomes self aware, climbs out of the pool and attacks, LoL!

I still highly recommend the Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaner!

It really cleans well and has a good reach too. Able to navigate our odd shaped pool and even cleans the sides though it is quite random in how it goes about cleaning. It’s easy to wash the filters and operate the machine. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars So far so good - it cleans, though not as I expected it to

After reading quite a few negative reviews, I had few major concerns when I purchased this expensive item. People reported that eero extenders could be a problem, robot stuck in the middle of the cycle etc. However, in my case I had no problem connecting to an eero router even without turning off 5GHz (eero offers such an option via application) It quickly connected and started cleaning the pool. It got stuck at 23% the first time, but was able to complete the cycle the next time. To be honest, after opening the pool it's not in the best shape, so I did anticipate it will take multiple rounds to clean it up. I did anticipate that after the first pass it would be 80-90% clean, but in reality it's about 60%, so I assume it will take 3-4 rounds to clean it up completely. Still much better than doing it manually. The length of the cable is more than adequate. I was surprised to learn that the control block is not waterproof, but water-resistant, so it should not be exposed to water (i.e. rain will be a problem) Well, it's a minor issue to me. Also, wall climbing seems to be exaggerated. So far, I have not witnessed waterline scrubbing (still learning) It does climb the walls, but stops short below the surface without reaching the waterline. Maybe some other routine does that - still learning. I did not see the software issues one of the reviewers described (cut the schedule line), though the need for the cloud connection is concerning (cloud connection did not stop the robot from moving though) Lack of notification on the phone when the robot is stuck or cycle complete is also slightly annoying. Simple thing to do and would save a lot of hassle. Cleaning the filters is a super easy process. Bottom line - so far so good. I'll see how it works in a long run, but it's definitely a huge time and energy saver compared to the manual cleaning.
Update 3 days later. The pool is not sparkly clean after 5th cycle (1 is thorough, others are regular as I do not see much difference to be honest) Those disconnects from "cloud" are getting annoying. Usually, the connection restores rather quickly, but I had once to disconnect power to restore the connection. It seems wifi functionality of Dolphin can be improved. Also, I cannot get the robot to get to the waterline. The video shows nice waterline scrubbing, but in my case it stops on the first angle between floor and vertical wall rather than climbing to the waterline. Furthermore, I am totally puzzled by the sentence in the manual that the handle must be adjusted diagonally. What does it mean? How? Instructions are not provided. The handle can be adjusted, no doubt, but what is the right position? And what's the difference does it make? I guess I'll have to experiment or call Dolphin to figure out.

5.0 out of 5 stars The CC plus DOES climb the walls

I picked this up when our polaris pool cleaner died. That cleaner was perfect for 4 seasons until it failed...not good enough for an expensive device. I thought I would try this one...the CC plus... and it was on sale so that was a bonus. The first time I put it in the water I did not correctly close one of the filter baskets and the propeller was getting jammed with leaves and it obviously did not clean the pool. After I fixed it and cleared the propeller I tried again and it worked extremely well! Other reviewers have said it does not climb walls. In fact it does. It also will move horizontally across the wall and clean the scum from the waterline. The cord does not seem to tangle after 5 cleanings (the polaris was annoying for that and always turned the same way). We have a large (41x25) irregular pool in the forest surrounded by trees and the pool needs a vacuum just about every day or two at the least. The 30 month warranty is better than competition...I am hoping for 8 years+.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome robotic cleaner

I did a lot of research and the Dolphin CC Plus was well reviewed. The Dolphin replaced an old robotic cleaner made by different manufacturer. The Dolphin is awesome, and does perform like it is supposed to. It even cleans the seams in the pool liner much better than the other robotic cleaner. While the manual (yes, I read it) states it doesn't do the water line, it will run horizontally at or above the water line.
The double filter system works extremely well, and is easy to clean.
    I couldn't be happier.
It does move very quickly and I am thinking about removing the latter each time I use it. Why? Because it hits the ladder with a certain degree of force. Not a big issue to pop the ladder up while the Dolphin goes to work.
Extremely satisfied and would buy again.

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU ARE IN THE UK. Purchased Dolphin Nautilus Pool Vacuum Cleaner and after less than 1 year of use the blue power cable started to erode. I contacted the company through Amazon to be told that as the pool cleaner is a US model, the warranty was invalid once it left the US. Nowhere in any description does it say this in fact the description states "The Nautilus Plus with CleverClean is also backed with a 24 month warranty leaving you worry free". The pool cleaner is now unsafe to use and a complete waste of money.
