You need to make the config.txt file like the instructions say (and/or my last photo in case you got no instructions) for your Linux install, unsure about Windows or MacOS I'll have to try more.
You can turn the blacklight on and off. The touchscreen loads via the USB interface, leaving your gpio free for other cool duties. Easy to read and crisp text. I'm glad I got this.
