I didn't get a free fan to review but I still like this fan. So far I haven't had any issues with the blades starting to spin. Going backwards slightly before starting is normal for this type of motor. The smart controls and remote seem to work well although I did have an issue with the backboard for the wall mount for the remote falling out. They are supposed to send me a new one when it comes in.The fan is quiet and the light is bright and the color temperature can be adjusted. But note that it doesn't light the ceiling as much as a normal fan probably would as the light is directed downward. I also have a concerns about any fan or lighting fixture with a custom LED light like this because if the LED light goes out then you can only hope you can get a replacement at a reasonable price from the manufacturer otherwise what can you do besides totally replace the fan? Sure, LED lights are supposed to last a long time but they often don't last nearly as long as they are supposed to.Five stars for now and hopefully I'll get that replacement piece to fix the minor issue with the remote mount.UPDATE 2025-02-21: I am still liking this fan but will really like it come summer. They did send me a new remote mount. I think the remote mount has a serious issue/flaw that makes it way too easy to damage the tiny little plastic 'bar' that supports the backplate which supports the remote when mounted on the wall. They should fix that! Also, I will note the fan has a definite plastic appearance so if you want a wood look that doesn't look like plastic, or something that looks more expensive, then look elsewhere.     We just purchased this fan the other day and I’ve got to say we are totally pleased with our purchase. The fan is well-made easy to install Work wonderful and whisper quiet. The great thing about it is you get a remote for the wall an app for your phone and if you have Alexa, it works with Alexa also voice commands. Alexa will control pretty much every function in the Fan. The only function I can’t do as of yet is dim or brighten the ambient light or change the colors of the ambient light, but you can do that through the app or the remote so it’s not a big deal. As far as everything else goes, I’ve never had a fan that has been so quiet. You don’t even hear it running at all. It moves quite a bit of air works wonderfully. If you work it with Alexa I highly recommend it. In fact we will probably be purchasing a second one for another bedroom. The ambient lighting you can change the colors and through the app you have infinite choices of colors and brightness. As far as the regular light for the fan, that’s also dimmable. It has five settings and is incredibly super bright on the highest setting great feature is that it has different levels of white so you can go for a cold white fluorescent to a warm white adjustment feature. There’s one final feature that is on the fan that I have never had never heard of. It’s called I believe natural and I didn’t know what it did, but when you use that setting, it gives you the simulation of being outside with a natural breeze very cool feature. Sometimes when you’re sitting under the fan, you get the same monotonous breeze blowing on you, but this varies the amounts and intensity of airflow, which is very cool. As far as installation, it is a snap the blades snap in with one thumb screw for each of the five blades and as far as hook up, all it requires is a white wire a black wire and a ground. No special wiring required as long as you have a ground up in your receptacle, it’s good to go very easy hook up, the control module within the fan is already wired for you so all you have to do is hook up three wires at the ceiling. You have an off switch at the wall. The fan will work through the remote or the app. Or Alexa. It also has a built-in timer. Forgot to mention the ambient lighting coloring, not only can you change the different colors dim the colors is also functions that will rotate the colors in different patterns and settings. Very cool. Think that pretty well covers it again highly recommend this fan well worth the money . Ed T
