My son's main PC disk was filling up so I wanted to get him a good, speedy external drive that he could use for his games. It had to be quick enough to be able to load current gen game files, likes textures, etc. in real-time and pretty quickly. This drive came through.

As you can see from the screenshot, speeds are blazing fast for an external drive, but here's the thing to keep in mind: Be sure your USB port is a USB 3.1 standard (current for 2024). And since the naming conventions have changed a gazillion times for USB, just be sure it has a 10 next to it for 10Gbps speeds. If you're using a 5Gbps port or -- gasp! -- USB 2.0 port, you will not get the full benefit of this drive.

However, if you use the drive as intended, expect a consistent, dependable drive for games, photos, movies or whatever you need to store on it.
