Purchased so I could sleep with my 5 cats; This bunk bed turned out to be like a balcony/indoor Catio for us. Has nice views if you place it next to a window. The black matte finish is sophisticated for even adult arrangements. As you may be able to tell in the pictures, I went against the recommended 6 inch mattress thickness for the 8 inches. It works for cats. I have read in a review that the bed creaks. On assembly, I have found loose washers I forgot to tighten and I would hear sounds. I just went through and made sure everything was tight. I don't notice any creaking of the frame otherwise. I appreciate the company added extra hardware- screws/washers,etc. Plan to set aside about 6 hours of time to put this together if you are working solo. It was a bit challenging fitting the L wrench into the screws. I did make some frustrating mistakes such as forgetting to add washers or tightening the screws that secure the slats too soon. To ease the process, the directions are fluid and understandable. I want to recommend looking through the entire box for inventory because the numeric references go by process of assembly not sequence. Two boxes of screws are towards the bottom of the securely arranged package. So, before thinking of returning for missing pieces look through the entire box. I appreciate the slat design on both bottom and top bunks which offers great mattress support. However, I do not like that the item descriptions states:"Under Bed Storage: There is 9.4 inches of height space under the bed". On my own measurement there is about 2 inches which can be a downside for those considering under bed cleaning/storage options. To accommodate this feature, I am going with a zippered waterproof/bedbug mattress cover for mold/allergen prevention. Otherwise, the frame does sit high enough to accommodate the assigned blanket/cover sizes. The frame also offers nice bottom to top bunk space for the claustrophobic. Overall, a great investment that ends up paying for itself in less than a years time. 4 Stars with some minor limitations.

    I really like how it saves on space. Worked great for the small bedroom we have. Easy to put together and very sturdy. I just have to fix the steps so the kids feet don’t hurt. Gonna try to wrap and hot glue pool noodles around them for some cushion to see if that helps.

    Assembly for this bed has been rather annoying. The enclosed L wrenches hardly fit the screws. Putting the second sides up to “close” the bed DOES NOT WORK AS INSTRUCTED! It’s like the pieces don’t fit together. I’ve put up numerous furniture pieces by myself, and this has been the most frustrating process I’ve encountered. I’m sure this bed is lovely once put together, but after already spending 4 hours trying to get there, idk what else to do. Will update once a miracle happens.
