These fans have been around for quite some time now, this is the first I have found them on Amazon. Over the years a couple of things have changed, and this one has an annoying change, but let's start with the good shall we?
The good. I have never had one of these die on me aside from batteries running out, not the fans fault per se. Durability with my use is good. I use this to shove heated air from a Mr. Heater Portable buddy around the bunk house, or tent to allow the heat to circulate instead of simply rise straight up and throgh the ceiling. It makes a massive difference in comfort anywhere away from the heater. And no, do NOT place this too close to the front of the heater!
Operation is simple and smooth. I use the Amazon basics batteries for this, I need to upgrade to rechargeable D cells but have been too cheap to do so as of yet.... Battery life is good, can't really say how long because I don't run it 24x7, but on our camping trips we average 6 hours run time a night for weekend trips (2 nights) and a set of batteries has been known to last a full camping season.
Compared to the earlier model with the swing over handle, and more rigid glossy plastic housing, this newer model seems more ruggedly built, fewer moving plastic parts to fail, a smoother switch, overall better fit and finish. Like I said the earlier model had a swing over handle that had to be more expensive to manufacture vs. the extended lip landle on the top of this thing, but the newer handle design I would think would be far less likely to be a failure point. Keep it simple.
The one place where they made a change that left me scratching my head and I do not feel is an improvement is the closures for the battery compartment. Previously they were slide latches that you simply slide over with your fingers, the new design requires some sort of straight edge tool like a screwdriver, a coin, or a swiss army knife to open up, all of which I have in camp, it's just an extra step, and additional engineering that made me wonder why they bothered changing it. It makes the battery compartment harder to get into.
Earlier models you could buy an additional AC transformer to run the fan off of wall power. Mind you, when I camp, if I have 110V power available, I am going to use an electric heater with a built in fan and don't need this, BUT I can see for RV users and whatnot, they might want this. The good thing is this newer version included the transformer, and unfortunately no way to stow it.
Perhaps in future iterations they might consider designing in on board storage for the transformer to reduce the odds of it getting lost between uses.
Overall I think it's a great little fan, 2 speeds, more than enough power to move air through a 10x12 family tent or 10x16 bunkhouse / hunting shack. If you need very portable, energy efficient, reliable, and effective air moving for a small space, this would be a highly recommended fan, just accept that it has foibles.

Update 14May22 D Size Adapter -- decided to return the adapters (noted below). Only got average four-to-six hours out of the AAs with adapters -- not worth the light weight and hassle changing so often. Get minimum 20 hours with Amazon gold D batteries, gone back to them.
Update 25Apr22 -- Holy smokes, still going strong and definitely the best investment ever. Works fabulously with both AC and D Batteries. Recently bought a D Size Adapter that takes one AA battery and it also works great and is just a bit lighter-weight, although don't last as long as Amazon Basics gold D cells but alternative when you run out. (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B076Q6SQM4/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A3P4UZIS42PRQV&psc=1). Now heading into warm weather and after working great through winter to help circulating heat it's now keeping me cool again. BTW, did buy a skinny paint brush to reach through grill to remove gunk from blades. After "brushing", tip and tap on the ground to dispose the gunk.
Update 11Mar21 -- This is one of the best purchases I have ever made! It's still working VERY well with both AC and batteries in both cold (circulating heat from my camper van propane Mr. Heater) and hot weather to keep me cool. I can't imagine not having it.
I have, however, found one thing that frustrates: it's solid one-piece plastic housing cannot be opened to clean the blades which are very, very dusty after more than two years of pretty much constant use. I've taken to using a 2-inch hair-rather-than-synthetic paint brush to try to clear the outer housing rings as much as possible. Might next try a skinny artist's brush to reach through the rings to the blades.
Update 03Jul20 -- amazing device! Working really well still with both AC and batteries. Used all winter to help move the heat around from my propane Mr. Heater, and now the weather is getting hot and humid again so am using it to keep cool. Again, this size is so much better than a 5 or 6 inch fan in a camper. Really, it's absolutely worth the cost.
Update 22Oct19 -- still working fantastically! Using it now to help heat flow around the space. One of my best purchases!
Original Review 2018
With both power and battery capacity, this is a really good fan. With batteries installed, when you plug in power supply it auto-switches to AC and doesn't run down the batteries. Am using in a camper van, and when I have power it's "FANtastic", and when on batteries it still has very good power. So glad I got this instead of a 5 or 6 inch battery-operated fan; the large 10 inch size gives much more air circulation. The batteries work for around 5-6 days on low running it for 4-6 hours per day. I've found turning off for a couple of hours seems to restore the batteries so they run strong again for at least a half hour before slowing down again. Another thing I noticed is that when I do use on AC power, that also seems to restore the batteries and they run again really well -- don't understand that, but it's a bonus for me.
I wanted this to be taken with me on my tour to Europe where we are doing quite a bit of home stays in the country side where most homes don't have A/C or fan and in recent years European summers have become hot (temp in Spain was 39 degrees) and i have had bad experiences in the past as well, hence we decided to take a fan. Straight away knew the cheap Chinese fans (already having extremely poor reviews on amazon) would not be enough. After a long search finally found the O2-Cool series of fans.
Not only it proved to be extremely useful it was also super light weight and did not add on to our overall weight limit in a bad way.
Special mention of the company Ganapathy Global who sold it cheaper then many other sellers but also promptly responded to my email request for delivery within a week as I needed it for my travel and it came ahead of the time they promised.
Please note: This product is for travel or to be used in close proximity and recommend using a light weight extension cable than buying the heavy and expensive rechargeable battery's (unless you are camping).
