1. Tablet Connection:
- It is NOT a standalone product.Connect it to a laptop or desktop which runs windows or mac system to work. It does not work Chrome OS.
- Make sure to completely and firmly plug USB & HDMI cable into PD1560, without gap left. (IMPORTANT)
- If you use a desktop, please plug the HDMI cable into graphic card of tower but not on motherboard.
- If there is no HDMI port on your computer, you need an extra HDMI adapter. For example: VGA to HDMI adapter, DVI to HDMI adapter, Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter, etc. We don't recommend USB to HDMI adapter, and multi-ports hub. We recommend one to one type hdmi adapter. If you don't know which kind of adapter to use, ask GAOMON After service team please.

When I started out in my digital art journey in 2020 (worked heavily in traditional pencil prior to this), I was a bit trepidatious about investing into this product. I'm very pleased to say it has met all my needs with no problems whatsoever. Before I had a PC, I'd plug it into the laptop I was using and draw directly on the screen. After I got a PC (thank you Covid checks), I use it at my desk as a slightly tilted (but almost vertical) drawing surface while I look perpendicularly at my computer monitor, where I run whatever software I'm using to draw (usually Adobe Photoshop). This setup is very comfortable and ergonomic; I rarely have any joint/muscle fatigue. I keep the Gaomon display off to avoid reflected light in my eyes. The stand is extremely stable; there is no wiggling whatsoever. All the keys work. After 4 years, one of them sometimes doesn't refresh completely up, but it's not an issue at all--just feels weird when it gets "stuck" (and then unsticks itself). I'm shocked to realize I've not eaten through a single nib despite heavy use over the last 4 years. I've logged thousands of hours into this product. Recently, I discovered I can tape a piece of Strathmore bristol over the top of it to achieve the traditional paper feel. It eats the nibs a bit, but not as fast as I expected--and I still have something like 10 more in the base of the pen holder that the product comes with.
The ONLY caution I have about this product is that the color gamut. While the colors are good, if you are 1. an advanced artist who is 2. working on this screen display DIRECTLY (not displayed on an external monitor the way I am using it), and3. whose work is reliant on color, look elsewhere for a product with a better gamut. From Gaomon's website, this product [PD1560] has a 72% NTSC gamut, which is GOOD, though not excellent:
"You will need to know it’s wrong that the higher percentage of a gamut, the better is a monitor. Different gamut has different specifications, and they will be applied for different usage. Please notice that, 100%sRGB gamut monitor is approximately equal to a 72% NTSC one, this is a good screen. Like our PD1560, PD1561, PD1161, they both have 72% NTSC gamut. Monitors with 85% NTSC gamut or 85% AdobeRGB gamut above is the excellent one. You can choose our PD2200 with 92% NTSC gamut, and PD156 PRO with 88% NTSC gamut. If some monitor’s gamut is below 65%sRGB or 45% NTSC, don’t think of it, they are just trash, and will do harm to your eyes."
If you are a beginner or intermediate artist--and this was my big question when I started out--it's difficult to figure out "how good" a color display should be to meet your needs. Do you need good--or do you need excellent? If that's you, I'm here to say good is great. Strong artwork has strong VALUE structure. You don't need to worry about the nuances of color--and even if you are, this tablet has plenty of gamut for you to run around in. If you're really bothered by any difference from the display of your artwork through the Gaomon, to that same image in your iPhone, just throw it into Photoshop and tweak the color relationships with an Adjustment layer (or use Snapseed or Lightroom or what have you).
TLDR; This product is a fantastic value. It is durable, reliable, easy and enjoyable to use, plenty spacious in capacity of performance for most artist's needs. If you are an advanced/professional artist sensitive to color, look elsewhere for a product with a higher gamut--but if you are advanced/professional, I'm preaching to the choir here. 10/10 product, highly recommend! Has been worth every penny. I'm so pleased with my first tablet experience with this company that I will likely invest in another Gaomon-brand tablet when I upgrade years down the line.
First thoughts: skip to the bottom for the summary
The tablet was packaged very nicely and cleanly, and was very easy to set up and start working. To clear up confusion, the product acts as a monitor, you have to have a computer, preferably a laptop, with drawing programs already installed for you to start drawing. I used Krita at first and have upgraded to Clip Studio Paint which we paid for.
When i first received the tablet after a while i peeled the screen protector off for some reason, and once i did that, it felt like drawing with a pen on a whiteboard, you are essentially drawing on glass. So i just bought a 20 dollar screen replacement, for people who don't like drawing on the glass itself, although the pen doesn't damage it. The screen had more texture and felt like paper. Also, when installing the driver, it was very easy. And to the people who say its difficult to install, i did this by myself when i was 12 so it couldn't be that hard
You have to charge the pen from time to time which people find is a big problem, but honestly when it stopped working i would plug it into the wall for ten minutes and it would be fine, after i finished that session i would plug the pen in for an hour and it would be fine for a few days.
The tablet worked amazing for the first year and i had no problems. The second year i had it, i started seeing some things. At times when i was drawing the screen would black out for a second and come back on, only on the tablet. Then it would say "power saying" after. I looked it up and it was a common problem where one of the two plugs you have to plug into the side of the tablet, the top one didn't go in enough and the screen would flicker when loosened. So to solve this i would take the smaller top plug and apply more pressure when plugging it into the tablet, and that fixed the problem. Now it flickers every now and then but it is no longer a problem.
Because the tablet was easily portable, the wires were combined into one, and all you needed was a open outlet i would bring the tablet on trips with me. I would pack the tablet very neatly into a suitcase and cover it with cushioning along with its accessories. I did this twice on a plane, and multiple times for car rides upstate and once i was at the destination, it would only take five minutes to unpack and set up, then i was ready to draw wherever. In short, it was really awesome.
Of course, i don't really think the tablet was really meant for traveling, like its only necessary for a move or something, not all the time. So of course i had unpacked it from my suitcase and it fell off my bed onto the floor on the screen.
I plugged it in right away and it started right up fine, there were no cracks on the screen or discolorations. But when i started drawing, i realized that right in the middle where i usually draw, the pen line loses control and the line turns wavy, as shown in the video. The section is right in the middle and a little bigger than a quarter. So i ignored it for a while but it was really annoying because i could only draw on the right and left sides of the screen.
Additionally, these little blue pixels started showing up randomly only on the tablet screen. It had happened after i dropped it, but after reading some reviews I'm not sure if it was not the drop that caused it? Still not entirely sure, but the pixels were very, very small and when i was in a drawing program, i could draw over them?? It was kind of weird, but when i was on the homescreen they would show up all over, like hundreds of them. If i turned the tablet off and on again they would disappear, or if i opened up another program they would disappear. So they weren't a problem they were just alarming to see and would go away instantly.
Other than that, the tablet has been amazing and i genuinely love drawing with it. I would recommend it to beginners who have had experience drawing on a drawing tablet and want to get their own and feel professional It has a very large screen, that's not so small and cramped in my opinion, probably because I'm used to the 15 inches. The driver is very easy to install to your computer form the website. It is very easy to understand and set up, and all the problems I've faced where very easy to solve, could be found on the internet, and weren't that big a deal if you just ignore them. Although, when I dropped it and the screen started bugging out in that spot, it slowly has been starting to get on my nerves and would really like it repaired because its right in the middle. Me and my dad have been in contact with Gaomon and Dora has been responding to all of our messages very quickly, thank you.

My GAOMON set up is on a Win 7 (64-bit) PC, using a GTX 1060 & AMD Ryzen 5, 1600. Predominantly working with SAI ver 1, and Adobe PS CC.
You don’t need a swole PC to be able to support this, however ensure your specs are up to snuff for whatever design program you’re using.
TL;DR: I liked this tablet enough, I gave away my older WACOM for free.
-PROS-
Brilliant entry-level price point for a pro-style tablet. This is a fantastic buy for those on the fence about committing to the digital illustration life. If you’ve been using an overpriced screen-less Wacom till now, you’ll probably want to have a go on this. GAOMON has out-done themselves in proving they can deliver pro-level equipment for a fraction of the price.
Unbelievable amount of kit in the box. You get the drawing glove, pen nibs, inkwell, pen-charger, tablet stand, A BRAND NEW PHILIPS HEAD SCREWDRIVER (seriously wasn’t expecting that, WOW!), screen protector (very hardy one at that) & a carry case (not sure when I’ll use it, but quality is quite nice. Will fit my 15 inch macbook no problem).
Easy set-up and driver installation. The cables provided do the job perfectly, and the drivers are easy to use, install & calibrate. I’ve never had an issue with this. Run the GAOMON program as Administrator (WIN 7) and you’re good to go!
The tablet is extremely light weight. Even with all the kit packed up with it. Though I’d never suggest traveling extensively with it, it is able to be packed away nicely alongside your laptop. It’s not heavy, but the product is bulky / sizable.
Delivery packaging is very secure. It arrived amidst three other boxes, all one-inside another. And the tablet is wrapped in rigid foam. The only way to damage this item in transit is if someone ran over it with a truck, or threw it off a cliff into water. Very happy knowing this arrived securely.
-CONS-
NO TOUCH screen. (This just means less finger-prints on the display)
Programmable buttons require a bit of tweaking to get optimized. Find what works best for you. The out-of-box placement is livable, but I found myself readjusting. They aren’t the most rigid buttons, and have a bit of play as you press down on them, just be careful.
Pen calibration is required nearly every start-up for multi-monitor display. Parallax is prominent enough to interrupt work to have to re-calibrate. Extra monitors on your set-up will cause a bit of issue in terms of display orientation.
Color depth is lacking, and this is not an OLED type display! This is IPS (not a problem to me, but some people might want to spend more for a higher-end color quality display.) To some, you may find the colors dull. Often best to have another monitor calibration set up to attain optimal color performance.
Cables are ugly / intrusive to the workspace. The inputs which insert into the tablet portion don’t curve back, or line flush with the tablet. They sort of stick out to the side, affecting properly cable-managed workspaces.
Also, the charging cable for the pen does not insert into the pen-dock / inkwell. It has to insert on the top end of the pen, having you set the pen down flat to charge.
-CONCLUSION-
Despite these minor inconveniences, this tablet is wonderful for the price point. I want to suggest you should buy this tablet if one or more of the following apply to you:
You have $500 saved you want to put towards furthering your pursuance into digital illustration.
You own a WACOM screen-less tablet and want to branch away from that brand.
Have done extensive research into how this tablet fits your use-case. Seek something better if this is not enough for your use-case.
You don’t care using programmable buttons only (THIS IS NOT A TOUCH SCREEN).
You don’t mind IPS display as a drawing surface. Decent color range, very workable, will require another monitor for finer color tuning.
You’re content with a 15 inch screen.
Good luck on your buying endeavours to find the right tablet. This might be the one for you!
So lets start with the bad first. There arent many, and none significant enough for me to not recommend this tablet.
A few bugs being the driver sometimes stops, but I have the icon for the tablet driver in my taskbar for setting. Clicking it restarts the driver so its a quick fix. I had issued just the same with my intous though. So that's more a general thing. It happens no matter what you get. Some people are just luckier then others.
Also there is no tilt support. However that doesn't make a huge impact because within a few hours my brain started ignoring that and knew how to correct itself when i tilted my pen without me thinking about it.
Cables. Only thing wrong for me is they are short. I use a desktop, Tower is on the left of my desk. I use the Tablet on the right of my desk. I just got cheap extension cords. So no big deal, tablet still works the same, and now I can place it where I want.
Any other issues that I had that fixed had solutions online AND GAOMON sent me an email after purchase that explains how to fix most of any little issues. So again, cons aren't huge.
The GOOD.
As having used a cintiq my sister owned on occasion, and my own wacom intuos. This tablet didnt at all set me back. I didn't feel that it prevented me from having the same experience as I did on my previous tablet or borrowed tablet. Sensitivity is great, responsiveness is great. It feels great, easy, and works just how I want it to.
Hotkeys! There are 10 hotkeys that you can customize. (middle 2 that are smaller are pre set to increase and decrease brush size). Big reason I opted for this over Huion was the hotkeys. Some people dont use them, or use small bluetooth keyboards instead. I dont like having to have something extra around, and I prefer being able to put everything I need right there. It makes it Super easy to undo, flip my canvas, drag the image, etc. I also set one to save, so I never have an excuse to forget and accidentally lose anything.
Screen. The screen is fantastic in my opinion. I removed the matte protector (which I found increased the accuracy of the pen to screen, though with the protector its not like it wasn't accurate. I just felt as if it was slightly more so without the protector on). Colours honestly arent too off from my two other monitors. Colour is easy to correct even if its off a bit, as well you can adjust the tablet with buttons on the side and can make it more accurate to your monitor anyways. It is HD and super clear. Not pixelated or distorted looking from other angles. Also if you use a laptop or only have 1 monitor (while I have 2 monitors already), its a great second screen.
The stand. Easy, sturdy. Doesnt take up a ton of room. Honestly I just love it. They even give you a screwdriver to put the stand on just in case you dont have one. A++++ to that as that was above and beyond making a customer happy with such a little thing.
The pen. So tech a con but because it doesnt bother me, its something I want to mention. Yes it does need to be charged. I've done several hour long sessions since I've gotten this tablet. I charged it once. So dont look at the pen needing to be charged as a con. It really is not.
The glove. Simple. They give you one. Makes it way easier to draw on a tablet. My sister had to order one to for use with hers. They give you one. Even if its a simple one. It works, its great. I'm happy. A+++
Portable. Because it isnt super large, its great for first time screen artists, or artists who dont used larger gestures. Its great for not taking up to much space, and you can take it with you. Definitely would be great with a laptop.
All in all I love the tablet. I'd give it a 4.5/5 or 9/10.
With minus points for just the driver issues and tilt support. The good heavily outweighs the bad.
I do recommend this tablet. Its more affordable and works almost the exact same. Even if this broke, and I bought a second. I'll still have costed me less then the wacom cintiq 13HD. That's a big difference. I was scared when i bought it because it was cheaper. Unless you use a cintiq on a regular basis, you'll be super happy with this. I am happy, thats for sure. Definitely watch some youtube videos, they give you a better look at the tablet itself and you can see how people draw on it. I looked to youtube reviews when I was deciding.
In the future I'll definitely keep my eye out in case they release one with a larger screen when I am ready to upgrade. Or a newer version in general.
It's got:
+Amazing price to performance
+Good screen resolution
+Pretty stable drivers, barely crashes
+Adjustable stand
+Pen charge lasts practically forever
+The pen is usable while charging... Feels goofy, but hey, it works!
-Slightly washed out colors
-Parallax is quite large, especially at the edges
-Really flimsy express keys, just use your keyboard
-The provided screen cover makes everything worse, don't use it (chews up your nibs, washes out the colors even more, scratches with just one stroke over it, just don't bother)
-The pen is very light, good for longer sessions, but feels unsubstantial
-The stand wobbles at certain angles when you press down off-centre
-The screen is nice but the rest of the body feels cheap
-There will be some jitter in your strokes, use a stabilizer in your art program; not a big deal, it happens with even the best displays, use a screenless tablet if it's a huge concern for you
Overall, it has its shortcomings, but it's an awesome product. This was quite the investment, so I'm more than happy to continue using this, but for their first pen display, Gaomon knocked it out of the park. Can't wait to see them improve on their future iterations. With a product like this out there, it can only mean good things for consumers looking to get an affordable price display.
The package came in several boxes and was relatively well protected. It came with all of the “extras” such as the case and screen protector. The stand is very easy to install and the tablet itself is very lightweight. The tablet is also compatible with Mac products! The only problems I had were setting up but as mentionned above, it was a pretty easy fix and customer support was very helpful.
First of all, I am using the MacBook Pro which only has 2 USB-C ports. So if you are interested in this tablet but the same laptop, you’ll have to buy one, if not two, adapters.
This first problem I encountered was that my screen display was not working. It would say “no signal” and then shut off. I then realized that it was because my hub adapter was not compatible with this tablet. So I had to go and purchase another one. I didn’t mind this at all but I know this could bother some people.
The second problem I encountered was that, although my screen worked fine, I could not control the cursor with my pen and the driver said “device disconnected”. The reason was because the usb plugin on the tablet was not properly connected. The solution is to make sure you plug all of your ports properly and make sure they are not loose. It may seem as if it is pluggged correctly but always make sure to double check.
Other than that, everything is working just fine! The pen is very lightweight and feels almost like a real pen. All of the buttons on the tablet and the pen are customizable. For the price point, I think this is very reasonable and well worth your money. It is definitely comparable to more expensive tablets but only at a fraction of the price.
Also, I really enjoyed how helpful the customer service was. Because of time differences, the live chat may not be available but I noticed they always emailed back as soon as they could in a lot of detail to make sure you understood how to fix everything. They were also very kind.
Overall, I think if you are trying to decide whether or not to purchase this tablet it is best to read reviews and do research on what you are looking for in a tablet. Personally, I love this tablet and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to buy it!
(If you have any other questions about my experience, please feel free to ask!)
Pros:
- Full HD, crisp display. It's pretty gorgeous. I feel like colors are moderately muted, but I haven't tried seriously calibrating it.
- Extremely responsive. I have yet to really notice any input lag. Performance will depend on the machine it's hooked up to, but the display itself doesn't seem to lag at all.
- Precise, jitter-free for the most part. I've encountered line jitter maybe 2 or 3 times in the last month, and it was extremely negligable.
- extremely light and portable. Travels well. I've taken this thing on trips and set it up with my laptop very comfortably. There are some cords to fuss with, but compared to similar displays, the cord management is a thing of beauty. Comes with a decent carrying case too.
- Cool to the touch. This may seem like a minor thing, but I draw/paint for hours on end and this thing barely heats up. Can work comfortably almost indefinitely. Though the power supply on the pack can get a bit warm, which can be kind of annoying if you're curling up on the couch with it.
Cons:
- The pen is battery powered (pretty common in non-wacom pen displays) and needs to be recharged. I've only had to charge it once so far, but while it's charging you can either forego painting or try to paint with a cord sticking out of the back of your pen. The display only comes with 1 pen as well, so you don't have a spare while charging.
- No brush-tilt or touch functionality. This isn't a big deal-breaker for me, but some people really go ham with tilty brushes.
- Monitor doesn't sport a full color range. It displays 6-bit color depth per channel instead of the standard 8 of most monitors. I think there's some color interpolation happening under the hood, however, because I haven't noticed any banding or color artifacting while using it. Color seems fine on everything I've painted on there as well. So just a heads up: great for painting, but may not be absolutely 100% color accurate. When in doubt, proof your work on a second monitor.
- calibration is iffy at times. Again, not a deal breaker, but you may notice some cursor parallax right at the far edges of the display. It hasn't been too bad though.
All in all, the pros of this display far outweigh the cons. Would happily buy this brand again and definitely recommend this thing. I'm off to do some more painting now!
