I took out the 3 AA rechargeable batteries and charged them on my Panasonic charger for 3 days. When I got them my charge device showed they had zero power. (RED) After charging for 3 days, charger finally showed green lights on all 3 batteries and man alive are they bright. They last all night long and really show the flag. I have it on top of a 25' flag pole and I'm very happy with it. Very easy to install and it looks great at night.

New Flagpole to show Old Glory!
The flagpole is the start of an involved process. I was replacing an old 20 ft. flagpole and flag with a new 25-foot pole, a solar light, and 4 x 6 American flag. The old pole gave the experience of preparing for this pole. The sectional pole came complete but the parts other than the sections were made of plastic. The instructions were thin but had diagrams showing how to do it. The plastic insert was too small in length. The pole at the base is a bit larger than 2 inches which prevents me from using the old supporting insert. Comes in 5 metal sections each will insert into the next with 3 sections slightly smaller to be use on the top. Each was lettered, but no mention of the letters in the instruction. There is a cap for the base, I guess to prevent water. The paint easily scuffs in handling especially when removing the letters.Here is where the work is involved.1. Then the hole I dug was 20 inches deep. Put 4 inches of gravel on the bottom.2. Place a 2 ½ inch PVC pipe (Powertec 70176V Clear PVC Pipe 2-1/2" x 36" Long on Amazon) into the hole with level supports replacing the short sleeve that came with the pole. 2 ½ inches is a bit too large by 3/8 of an inch, but could not find a 2 ¼ pipe. Filled around the pipe with gravel up to about 8 inches.3. Making sure the pipe was level straight up, pour in unmixed concert mix around the pipe and the soak the mix with water. Again check the leveling and adjust.4. Left everything sit overnight, now that the sleeve is in the hole, level with gravel for drainage it’s ready for the pole.5. I then assembled the pole. When assembling the pole, each section needed to have a small screw placed to prevent the pole from twisting in high winds. I used 10# 3/8-inch stainless steel self-drilling screws. The stainless steel will prevent the screws from rusting. Can be found on Amazon also.6. Using black spray paint, I had around, I touched up the scruff marks and the stainless screws. I installed the new solar flagpole led light on top with the ball topper. a. One point is to check that the light is on! The one I brought from Amazon (Sunnytech 2nd Generation Solar Flagpole 20 led Light) has an on/off switch. I left the light out in the sun for a day, charging up. Placed it in a cabinet and peeked in if it lit up it was on if not repeat after pushing the on/off button.7. Once the pole was in the sleeve, I drilled a 3/8” hole through the sleeve and pole. In this hole I inserted a 3” stainless steel carriage bolt through the sleeve and flagpole with two nuts to lock everything. This will prevent the whole flagpole moving in a heavy wind.That's it.

This is the second one I bought for my flagpole.
First one was on the flagpole 24/7 all year round.
From all the wind bouncing it around I had to replace it as it came loose and had a short in it.
It’s nice and bright and shows the flag off nice at night.
During the summer it will last all night long from a charge.
During winter months it last most of the night.
First one I only had to replace the batteries once in 7 years but I did have to take it down a couple of times to clean the solar panels on it.
Would buy again.
This one seems to be an update one from the first one.
