Good for slicing bread
Top reviews from the United States

- Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2024I only use it for slicing bread. It’s not very heavy or sturdy, but it’s sharp and gets the job done. Cutting is simple and takes a minute for an entire loaf. I’m not sure how it would handle a hard cheese or tougher meat, but for my needs it’s ok.
It does move a bit around the countertop as you’re using it, so I need to keep it steady with one hand.
I think for the money it was worth it - I got a “used like new” model and it really was like new with no signs of use and all stickers intact, but at almost 50% off. I’m not sure if I’d like it as much if I had paid full price.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2024My biggest concerns with a smaller system like this is the ease of use, the control of the meat, and the ease of cleaning. In all 3 categories, this slicer performed well. The one item to be aware of is that if you put steady pressure on the meat as you're trimming, the width of the cut will slowly change. I handled that by holding the adjusting knob while slicing. If there's any other item to be aware of it would be that when you clean the slicer, it's tough to some of the movable areas that set the slicer depth.
Beyond that, I'd recommend this highly. It's very easy to remove the blade and all the washable parts. Re-installation is also a breeze, and it works great time after time.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2017So I gave it 4 stars.
First, for those reviewing this with 1-star ratings. I can understand the frustration but it seems like so many are rating this product off of what it can't do versus what it can. If you're looking for a deli-style slicer for paper thin cuts with almost no work to it, yes, this product is not for you. There's a reason commercial slivers cost so much. Ultra thin and well crafted blades with high rpms don't come cheap.
For all the reviewers giving this 5 stars, this really is t as great as everyone makes it out to be. There are some serious design flaws and it takes some work and toying with to get the hang of this product.
Pros:
(1) will slide better than a knife and more consistent than a mandolin.
(2) fairly easy to operate. Cleaning didn't seem too bad. You can't put this or any parts in the dishwasher, which is a drawback for home users, but cleaning it didn't make me feel like it was the end of the world.
(3) it will cut near paper thing slices if you handle it the right way
(4) slices bread in consistent sized slices. I like that this can act not only as a meat and cheese slicer, but also a bread slicer for my fresh baked loaves
(5) does really save you money if you buy deli meats in bulk or cure your own deli meats. And the size is not too bad for a slicer. Fairly small and easily storable. It's also very light in weight.
Cons:
(1) major design flaws. The adjustment knob itself seems fine, but the backing where the object to cut slides it weak. It does move during slicing
(2) I don't like the plastic handgaurd. It feels a bit flimsy
(3) for something that is only 150w, I feel like inly being able to run it for 10 minutes is a bit frustrating, especially if you have a ton to slice. I understand the nature of the engineering behind it, but for a home - based kitchen appliance one would expect to be able to not have to let the thing "cool off" with such a low wattage rating. This tells me the engineering is not that well thought out.
(4) the blade does operate at a low rpm. I suppose it's not the end of the world for a home product, but i feel like they could have designed this a bit better with a higher rpm
Suggestions for use:
(1) for anything that it cut, if you want consistent sized slices, I would put the object of slicing a little higher. I know this could become a safety issue, so just think while you slice, and keep in mind you have a blade nearby. I've been using about 1/2 in- 1in off the bottom. It definitely yields better and more consistent cuts. I also don't have anything get stuck in the blade.
(2) for paper thin slices, you really need to set this almost near size 0. By following the first suggestion, it'll get you there. It won't be consistent, but at least you'll be close enough to be happy
(3) don't press too hard on the hand guard. I feel like this is one issue that led me to inconsistent slicing.
(4) don't go fast. Doing so will certainly ensure uneven and inconsistent slices. The instructions even direct you to operate slowly. But obviously don't slice, stop, slice, stop midway. You want one smooth slow pass. This will also get you there
Overall, this is a home kitchen product which is why I did give it a 4 star rating. If this were sold to me as a commercial product, I certainly would be complaining. Heck, the box even specifies to only use this in a home kitchen. If you're looking to leave your deli and move to home cured or bulk deli meats, then this will get you there. But it does require some playing around with. Don't expect to open this, shove a hunk of meat on it and expect high quality slices. Just like any non-commercial kitchen product, there will be inconsistencies. But for under $70, I think the quality of the product matches with the price well. You just have to learn how to use it the right way for everything you use it for. I've found different speeds of my hand moving and heights really make a difference based on the type of food being sliced.. I know most of us want these things to be intuitive and easy to use, but what can you expect for a kitchen product for less than $100? It does what it needs to do when used in the correct way for each type of food. With all that said, certainly worth the investment so far. I'll give updates if anything changes.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2024Arrived on time and packed well. Works good for slicing bread, but make sure you clean the blade good before first use. There was a little bit of light blue/Grey oil on the first few slices. Other tan that it seems to be a good slicer.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2025I often look for an inexpensive version of a product when I first buy a new gadget. This was a starter slicer to see if we actually use it and if it saves us money by buying meat and cheese in bulk. Maybe I put too much faith in the brand, but this slicer didn't meet my expectations.
Right away, we could tell that the slicer was too lightweight and would move around too much when slicing anything hard. Most of its components are plastic, including some of the internal parts, which ended up being its downfall.
The motor is just not very strong, so while it seemed to work fine on meat, it bogged down badly when slicing cheese. I like to freeze meat slightly before slicing it, but this thing couldn't handle that.
The thickness adjustment knob has no indicators on it, so we had to make some marks at different depths to get consistent results.
It lasted about a year before the insides melted. We used it enough that I feel a new one is justified, but this time, I'll look for a professional version that will last.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2025This is a review on Amazon and the slicer itself. First Amazon. I ordered this slicer on February 6, 2024 and I received it on February 8, 2024. So Amazon gets five stars. As far as the slicer goes. I voted only one other slicer prior to buying this. It was an older slicer which required you to hold the power button in while slicing, which made it very difficult to use. This slicer has an on off switch so you don’t have to use one of your hands to hold down the on button to use it. For this reason it is so much easier to use than my older model. I used it for the first time on February 9, 2024 and I was amazed by how easy it is to use. I sliced some ham and turkey and they came out beautifully. And then slice some apples and I was amazed how nice they were.If I could give it a six star I would. While I cannot give a rating for the longevity of this slicer, I can’t wait to try it on other things.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2024Product was garbage. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife. Went with this product because it has a common product name. Cuisinart PRO food slicer. It eludes in the name PRO, that it would be good for home use. The blade was dull (I have butter knives sharper) and serrated, the motor did not turn the blade fast enough. I was attempting to slice a smoked ham with it. It wouldn't slice cleanly and would just tear the meat.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2025Very good meat slicer for the value.
