The box says, "Beautifully Made" and "Smartly Stictched"... not exactly. The faux leather has a very plastic feel to it, it isn't supple at all, and is clearly laid over a thin piece of foam. When you pick up the case by anything other than the handle, it leaves indents from your fingers. So far they are disappearing after a minute or two. The stones are very lightweight, heavier would be preferred.Because the misaligned halves show when the case is opened, and it's making me think I have OCD, I am going to order a different set and see if it is better. For $40, this is a good set to have around the house for family play or as a beginner set and will probably hold up under average play for a year or two.

    This is a great set. Everything seems to be first class. I played this game all the time back in the 60s and 70s and then life started and somewhere my set was lost. The only thing that bothers me is the slick plastic pieces. they are slippery. I remember my old set had wooden pieces like checker pieces. Easy to grab and move without them slipping around. Otherwise, good price and nice looking set.
    Below, Amazon calls it a toy... it is not a toy, it's a strategy game to sharpen your mind. I would not hesitate to give this to a 5 year old or a 90 year old..... I'm 80 and love it.
