Heater was shipped with existing damage !!

Heater was shipped with existing damage !!
I love this heater. This is the third time I've purchased this Hiland model. However, this heater arrived damaged. The external shipping container was not damaged. Rather, the original manufacturer's product box was damaged on one corner, resulting in a severely bent heater frame and door. See attached photo. This leads me to the conclusion that the damage occurred prior to being shipped to me. Additionally, the shipping box was much larger than the original product box. That's fine, but there was only 1 piece of crumpled paper filling the void in the box. Thus, the product box was not secure inside the shipping box - I'm sure it moved around during transit. Amazon quickly replaced this damaged heater (thanks for the excellent response ). However, the original heater should not have been shipped in the first place.

I like it so much I ordered another one for the other side, unfortunately it arrived damaged and had to send it back. I'm going to try again!     There was no reference to how much heat is felt setting beside this heater. I was expecting to feel a nice amount of heat after 5 minutes of operation. This heater produces very little radiant heat like the sun shining on a person. Feels like 75% of the heat goes straight up. Would not recommend this heater much below 50 degrees Fahrenheit and no wind. Since it is not recommended for indoor use, this heater is more to look at rather than be used for heat. 25 degrees and no wind when we tried it, could only warm hands above the heater.

    We purchased two of these for cool winter evenings in southern Texas. They look nice, but they don't put out much heat. Our neighbors have a different brand with the same BTU rating and similar design, but the flame chamber is enclosed in a steel mesh. The flame isn't as visible on their heaters, but they put out a LOT more radiant heat than ours.

    I love this heater, even more than my 6 ft tall pyramid heater. And that’s because the short height is perfect for a person sitting or standing (versus the taller heaters only heating at chest/eye level). And I definitely recommend using a 20 lb tank and hose versus a 1 lb tank.

    Very attractive portable heater, and goes well with our dark brown patio furniture. Set up was easy, and took less than 10 minutes. As has been mentioned by other reviewers, it does not throw off a lot of heat, but does produce a long flame that is mesmerizing. I got well over 75 minutes of use from one bottle of Coleman gas.

    Nifty little heater, well-constructed and doesn't look cheap. Unpack box, hook up propane can (small green) and use. Everything worked just fine. Seems best used on the floor between chairs since most heat rises out the top. My impression is that this heater is fantastic for ambiance during outdoor parties but not really designed for keeping warm. I don't see it being used on a table either. That said, I love it and will likely order a few more. I just started using so don't know how long a green propane can will last.
