We purchased one of these from another manufacturer a few years ago for our older/larger dog to wear during hunting season since we live in the country surrounded by woods. We tried to order another one for our new (smaller dog) but the small from that manufacturer did not fit so we tried SafetyPUP XD because they had x-small as well. I ordered both the X-Small and the Small and sent back the X-Small since it fit our pup.
WE LOVE IT and HERE'S WHY:
First, the small from this company DID fit our 25 lb. shepherd/fox terrier rescue (whereas the other company's did not) but even if it hadn't, SafetyPUP still offered an X-Small- so: more size options.
Second, the material is much better! It's way more reflective after several washings, seems more durable (though that was not an issue with the other manufacturer either as we still have and use it on our larger/older dog). But SafetyPUP's material is water repellent (if not waterproof) and has slightly more coverage over the front arms/lower neck than the other (which we offset on the other by adding an orange bandana- which is still worn).
Overall- it's too bad we didn't find this company when we bought the first one! Since we liked the small orange so much (and our larger dog already has an orange vest) we also purchased the SafetyPUP XD URBAN in fluorescent yellow for both dogs: SMALL for Porter Jones (25 lb. shepherd/fox terrier mix rescue) & LARGE for Jabe Colden (75 lb. shepherd/collie mix rescue).
I put the boys in the orange vests during the day in hunting season, and for those crepuscular hours (dawn/dusk) when the light is low- the Yellow shows up amazingly- you can even make out the yellow in full dark! And check either color out with a flashlight- FANTASTIC REFLECTION!
Highly recommended for use at home, hiking, even in the water (if your dogs swim) so they can be seen by others (especially boaters).
These have become a staple for our dogs whenever we leave the house now... better to have and not need, than need and not have. No more skipping out on spur of the moment hikes, or trail exploration because it's hunting season!

I bought for walking and jogging with my dogs. We are out at 5:30AM and it is dark. In the summer, it is great. In the winter there is no insulating quality to it, so at 25F and above I use these. Below 25F we have some non-reflective insulated 'coats' they wear.

Use the guides to size for your dog, I cannot help there. My dogs have no problems doing their 'business' (they are both male, for reference) with the vests on. Does not interfere with leashes or collars.

The reflective performance is fantastic....very visible if we are crossing the street to any car headlights. And they look really nice....lots of complements on them....from the other folks walking at that ungodly hour!

Do note your dog's natural oils and dirt on their coat will get onto the underside of the vest....so it will get a little dirty. But this doesn't go through to the top, you cannot tell, and the instructions note you should limit washing them as it reduces the reflective value. I have washed them 1x in a washing machine...but they really didn't need it and in the future I will likely just wipe down the inside surface if needed.

A great purchase and I would highly recommend. I have had some knuckleheads who like to run stop signs at that early time of the morning. We get the heck out of their way....but in each case they do see us and stop...even in areas with no street lights. The vests do the job. The dogs seem to like them....as soon as they come out they know it is time for going out on a walk and they wait patiently while I put them on....then put on their leash.

This is the second one of these vests that I have bought for my French Bulldog. The first one was yellow and the new one is orange. My dogs run free as I walk trails with them and I found that the yellow one blended too much with the grass as the grass changed to yellow/brown during the summer. The orange vest shows up much more. These vests are very durable. My Frenchie wears it 100% of the time she is outside and it is standing up well. The measurements seem quite accurate. The other thing that is great is that the vest doesn't choke my dog and it remains in place, no shifting or sliding. The reflective tape really stands out during the day and especially at night with light shining on it. My frenchie plays really roughly with my other two Standard Poodles and some of the reflective tape tore. I just reglued it with crazy glue and it's holding firm. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.
Well worth the money for the safety of my dog.

Parfait pour mon chien qui pèse 25 kgs. J'ai acheté ce produit car nous sommes en période de chasse c'est donc pour protéger mon chien pour qu'on ne le confonde pas avec un sanglier. L'essentiel pour moi grâce à ce gilet c'est que mon chien soit bien vu. L'orange étant la couleur des chasseurs, ils seront certainement plus attentifs que si le gilet avait été jaune. En tout cas, c'est mon opinion. Le produit par lui-même est léger, facile d'utilisation, pas trop cher, je le recommande donc.
