Would not recommend. I am a violinist and teacher of 30 years. I bought this bow to try it out to see if it would be one to recommend to students. After about a year the stick broke for no apparent reason, other than bad workmanship. It broke where the wood wrap meets around the inside of the tip. This bow was not dropped or otherwise mistreated, and was very lightly used by a professional. Don’t buy!

    There are several things that contribute to the sound of a violin. The bow is a major contributing factor in creating a beautiful tone.

    This Fiddlerman bow has wonderful materials and superb craftsmanship. The hair is straight and smooth. The frog has beautiful finish and of course the Fiddlerman name inscribed upon it.

    If you are still using the fiberglass and hair bow that comes with most beginner outfits, go ahead and get this bow. Disappointment is only that you didn’t get it sooner.

    It comes packaged nicely in a well protected box. And arrives in-rosined.
