Paired with a good cabinet, this amp completely solves the portable/loud bass amp problem!

Paired with a good cabinet, this amp completely solves the portable/loud bass amp problem!
Like many reviewers, I have a fun, huge, tremendously heavy vintage bass amp ... that is not practical for bringing to gigs. For gigs, I needed something simple and practical. I was about to pull the trigger on a BAM200, but chose this because it's only a little bit more money, it has more tone shaping features, and (very important for me) it has an audio input so I can use it with headphones to run through bass parts sans speaker, and get my rehearsing done.Speakon male cable required for speaker output. I have it connected to a salvaged Ampeg/EV 15" cabinet, I can get clean sounds, it's wonderful, I can rattle the windows of the house if I want, plenty of headroom. Setup for gigs will be easy, using the XLR output into the PA, and the cabinet as an onstage monitor. The compressor is rudimentary ("Thrust" knob/switch, with no particular parameter control), but very musical and usable. Here is my question: Why are there not any equivalent solid-state, lightweight, loud guitar amps? Is it simply a matter of supply and demand? If TC made this same exact amp for guitar, I'd want one. The only things I'd change would be some of the tone controls, and I'd want an effects loop. TC engineers, if you are reading this ... TAKE MY MONEY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Deep bottom, clear, bass notes, are now capable
Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2021
This amp, coupled with my Markbass New York 151 bass speaker, provides the capability to get the rich lower notes I was looking for without the use of my bass pedal board which includes a Behringer V-Tone bass amp modeler, a Joyo 6 Band Equalizer, and a Boss LMB-3 Limiter / Enhancer. The tone that best fits the majority of music that I play on bass is similar the type of music that would sound good with a stand-up bass. If I want to change that tone, of course, I always have that option making adjustments on the Bass, Lo-Mid, Hi-Mid, and Treble equalizing controls on the amp.
In addition to this the amp is very reasonably priced. Personally I highly recommend this amp, Craig Jones

3.0 out of 5 stars Sounds good, not super impressed
Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2023
This amp has a good size and price however, the clip light doesn't appear to function at all and the Thresh light is always on when the Thrust switch is on. The clip light should light when you send to much signal to the amp and the Thresh light should only light up when the Thrust compression function is actively processing the signal. These are my only complaints since I only use the amp for practice and probably won't ever use it live. If the wiring for these two important functions is bad, I don't expect this amp to last long.
