    In the description, shown in my screen shot shared here, says, "Craft 4 different styles..." does not mean 4 different kaleidoscopes! The box is much clearer explaining that by, "filling in different trinkets into the object chamber." you can see 4 different styles, colour changing, mystic glow, geometric pattern and snowflake. As I read more carefully the description does say, "build and customize a kaleidoscope."There is a difference between "seeing" and "crafting" 4 different styles of kaleidoscope.I had thought I could have my 3 older grandkids and myself use them at the same time and trade to see different styles. Of course we can take turns but think it could have been more clearly represented as I was thrilled with the price for 4 kaleidoscopes.

      Suggested this to a friend as an inexpensive birthday gift for my daughter’s 5th birthday - and it was a hit! Fun for her to assemble, fun to test out all the different combinations… and of course there are endless possibilities. I had to draw the line at cutting up favorite clothes to put little scraps of fabric in there. The only thing I thought could be better about the product is that the protective paper on the mirrors doesn’t come off easily or seamlessly. Would be great if there was a pull-tab that a five year old (or an adult without long nails) could manage, and if the glue was slightly less adhesive. Still, I’d fully recommend this as a great hands-on, satisfying craft for kids that also introduces them to conversations about physics, if you’re into that.

      This magnet set works perfect for my son. He likes to make his own experiments and create his own things. This kit allows him to make a race car that is pulled by a magnet underneath the table, a fishing line with magnetic fish,a magenetic boat, a magentic sculpture and other simple ideas. it has a paper that shows 10 experiments. Yes it is plastic and seams like it won't last, but for 10.00 it was a good deal! If I had spent more and just purchased two bar magnets he would not have been able to make the car and the little experiments independently.... Instead I would have had to research simple experiments and help him make them work. One of the experiments does require a compass and another needs iron shavings (it says to use cold cereal to find iron). Good deal for a 6 year old boy.

      Cardboard tube, plastic mirrors, pretty lame instructions but, it works! I bought this intending to turn a wooden body for the thing, and when I do, it should be just fine. For the price, you get what you pay for. I have no complaints about the parts received, my only gripe is the very sparse instructions, but then, this isn't rocket surgery or brain science, it's a cardboard and plastic TOY! It is what it is, doesn't pretend to be anything else, and frankly, these things are fun for a few minutes, then they're put down and forgotten. After a few months, you may run across it again, pick it up, look thru it, then back into the drawer it goes. If you want an inexpensive kaleidoscope, have some patience and put this thing together.

      An interesting physics experiment can be done by using the 2 circular magnets and the fishing rod.
      Use one circular magnet as the base,insert the pole in it,and drop the 2nd circular magnet (hole)
      onto the rod (making sure that the poles of the 2nd are set (flip?) so that the 2nd magnet is repelled.
      The 2nd magnet will oscillate a bit and then come into equilibrium (motionless). What has happened
      is the repulsive magnetic force just cancels out the attractive gravitational force. Some extras:
      (1) weighing the 2nd circular magnet will tell you the magnitude of the repulsive magnetic force
      (2) adding the 2 block magnets to the base - for example-arranged so that they attract each other, the new
      base will raise the equilibrium position of the 2nd circular magnet
      (3) My 7 year old grand son asked why the suspended 2nd magnet was tilted. I told him my guess is that
      we didn't have complete circular symmetry (the block base magnets) or imperfections
      in the magnetic domains
      (4) by holding the 2nd circular magnetic against the base and then releasing it,it will fly off the rod.
      Undoubtedly kids will love that (parents no so much)
