How can I get an runny yolk egg?
Put it in the microwave for 30-45 seconds, and then again for 30 seconds pausing every 10 seconds to take the cover off to check the appearance. These times are flexible based on how powerful you microwave is. Mine's a 1600 watt unit. By Jeffry R.

could someone tell me how not have eggs explode?
I always spray the holder with Pam and use more water than the measurement. I set the timer for 45 seconds and take a peep...then for increments of 10 seconds. If they come out a little runny I just zap them in a ramekin for about 15 secs. By MJH1948
Perfect Poached Eggs!!
It took a few times to get the time down right, but once I did, it made PERFECT poached eggs! I took 75 seconds in my microwave. My idea of a perfect poached egg is a solid white with a loose but not runny yoke; enough yoke that you can dip your toast in. Clean-up is very, very easy!!

This product works as advertised, with a couple of mods. The price was super. Cleanup is easy. Everything goes into the dishwasher. I would buy this again.
The instructions are helpful, with text and photos. Two things I discovered: with the baskets in the wells, spray them with non-stick spray or brush with butter. Either substance will work, but you need an emulsifier to create the "non-stickiness" between the egg and the container. Then, regardless of egg size, fill the wells with HALF the amount of water called for. In my opinion, 50ml is too much.
Other things I learned: Pierce the yolks as instructed and then cover and cook for only about 70 seconds. Take it out, check it for doneness, and possibly add another 5-10 seconds of time, according to the wattage chart provided. Take it out earlier than you think because microwaved food continues cooking for up to a minute or so after removal. Leave it covered after you take it out if you want more-done yolks. One last thing: It WILL pop in the microwave due to air in the whites, even though the yolks have been pierced. Microwaving with lid on prevents a micropocalypse. 😂
- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2025Color: BlueVerified PurchaseSome have complained that they have a few cooking issues with the egg cooker. I might offer a few easy tips. First, even though eggs come graded in the same carton they are all not the same size. Try and select two eggs that are close to the same size for even, best results. Two, place the unit in the center of the microwave table for an even microwave cooking experience. This will cook both the eggs the same. Three, when you first use the egg cooker notice your microwave power and use the provided chart for timing information. Fourth, If your eggs are over or under cooked vary the timer accordingly. Once you have all of these easy to use steps in place you will get great constancy, this is a great egg cooker for poached eggs, high quality at a great price.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2025Color: BlueVerified PurchaseGenerally satisfactory poached eggs result, following heating the covered poacher in the microwave (on high) for approximately 58 seconds. But : Afterwards, a fair amount of time is required towards thoroughly clearing all the (egg-white) residue present within both the bottom segments which hold the (two) cups and in-between each open slot surrounding the egg-holders fitted inside both cups.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2024Color: BlueVerified PurchaseI love soft-boiled/poached eggs. I hate making them. I need to make two at once which is not possible using the swirl and drop into boiling water technique. This device was recommended to me. It has two compartments, great. My microwave is 1100 watts and the recommended time was 60-70 seconds. I set it for 30 seconds for one large egg as a test. The yolk was semi-cooked/semi-runny and half the white had leaked through the large slots of the "sieve" into the lower compartment and was not recoverable. Nothing stuck to the plastic so it was easy to clean but I didn't get much egg out of it.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2025THIS IS THE ANSWER!!!
I think I've have purchased every possible product to make the perfect poached egg. Always a mess, never success. Then I saw this. Better than stovetop (because I get busy or it boils over or whatever), it goes into the microwave. And it has its own lid, so hopefully that will stop any explosions (there are no explosions if you follow the directions). I now have absolutely perfect poached eggs every morning. Note how much power your microwave has. No need to calculate but if its particularly powerful (large means probably powerful although not always), do the cooking in increments at first until you catch on to what your microwave will do. Example: put the 50ml of water in each egg cup with each raw egg, cover, and place in the microwave. Cook on high for 50 seconds (no explosions). Wait a few seconds and then continue for 10 second intervals on high, stopping to check the eggs until they are like you want them. (And if you can't tell without cutting them open, do your best and understand it might take 2 or 3 tries to get it exactly how YOU want them.) And then you're all set. I'd suggest writing down the winning time somewhere, because you may forget which one was the right one for you, and since you made more than one attempt, you might forget. Let's say your magic time is 1 minute and 10 seconds. To avoid explosions (which can happen with eggs in any microwave), cook 50 seconds and then let it wait maybe 10 seconds or so. Then cook the rest of the time, which in this example is 20 more seconds. It will become SO EASY you'll wonder why you ever did it any other way. This example applies to whether you have one or two eggs in the device....same timing. Wishing everyone a wonderful breakfast!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2024Color: BlueVerified PurchaseThis egg poacher/cooker looks great but doesn't work so great. The egg seeps below the egg basket & water level at the bottom of the base, therefore wasting part of the egg. It also makes the egg smaller than the size of a bagel or English muffin so it doesn't cover or fit on it like a sausage patty does when making a breakfast sandwich. And it's time consuming to clean the 3 separate pieces by hand since I prefer to not place plastic items in the dishwasher. It's easier to just use a cereal bowl & cook an egg in the microwave for 30 seconds to obtain the perfect size to fit on a sandwich! I'd ask for a full refund if the 30 day return period didn't expire so unfortunately, I'm throwing it in the garbage.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2025Color: BlueVerified PurchaseWorked well the first time. Much better than using a pot of boiling water & vinegar. The tricky part was determining my microwaves wattage ( it was marked 1.65kW), and how much water to put in the egg poacher. I started with lower seconds than I needed, because I didn’t want exploding eggs. Checked the poacher, then added a few more seconds until I ended up with two nicely poached eggs with set whites & yolks. Next time I’ll use a bit less water and know how many seconds to use. Poacher was easy to clean, eggs did not sticky nor were they runny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works ok and will use it
Color: BlueVerified PurchaseIt poached eggs as advertised. It is a bit difficult to get the white of the egg cooked and still have the yoke runny. But that is the issue with microwaves. They cook from the inside out. When using this egg poacher you need to cook the eggs a bit less cooked than you want them and then leave them for a couple of minutes to let the hot water further cook the whites a bit more. Then they are perfect for me to eat. I’m very picky about having the whites of the eggs solid and not jiggling when I eat them but I like my yoke runny. If you don’t care to have your yoke runny then it is very easy to use this egg poacher but otherwise follow my recommendation on how to cook them and you will be satisfied with the outcome. It just a bit more work and experimenting to get your eggs how you like them.

5.0 out of 5 stars So easy to use
Color: OrangeVerified PurchaseI had an older microwave poacher for years. The eggs usually exploded. So we tried this one today. IN our little microwave it was 1 min and 15 for hard yolks. My husband loved it as the eggs are really cooking in water. They tasted wonderful. I've just thrown everything into the dishwasher but really.. it would be quite easy to handwash. This is going to be a new staple for us in the kitchen.
