This is our fourth and latest grinder over the last 15 years. All were manufactured by different major companies. In many ways, this Capressso is the best so far:
1) VERY nice, consistent grind which is easy to adjust
2) Very easy to operate, disassemble and clean
3) The grind procedure is fast. Note: Directions state grinding should be limited to 3 minutes at a time. That is not practical for us, so I did 1/2 of a bag (12 minutes), no heat problem. I allowed the Capresso to sit for 20 minutes, then finished the bag's contents. Again, no problem or obvious heating of the Capresso noted.
4) The Capresso is more thoughtfully designed than others we have used. The conical burrs appear to be well designed, bean feed was smooth and maintenance of the grind chamber is pretty easy. We use a dark roast that is rather oily and we had no issues with clogging.
5) Quiet operation with very minimal vibration
6) THE ONE NEGATIVE...From the first 12 cup grind, this unit generated MORE STATIC than any unit I have experienced! The clinging coffee grounds became a problem reinserting the ground coffee container and that area had to be cleaned repeatedly during the grind. also, fair amounts of ground coffee were stuck inside the grind container making emptying messy. Our counter top and the machine were covered with errant coffee particles by the time I finished. I am glad we grind in quantity: I can't imagine going through that mess every day.

Great grinder, nice upgrade from the plastic version
I have used a Capresso grinder since 2009. The original machine wore out in 2017. Bought another one in 2017 and the conical burrs were shot again by 11/23. I had the plastic silver version and dropped another $40 more on the stainless die cast metal version which looks a lot better and weighs about twice as much as the plastic model. Every part from the 2017 model is interchangeable with the 2023 model. The Capresso grinder is workhorse. It never gummed up or jammed and I literally cleaned the grinder about once a year. I use the machine every day so it’s got a lot of miles on it before it had to be replaced. The photos show the inside of my old machine which is obviously neglected cleaning wise. The other 2 photos are the old plastic machine versus the new stainless version. I kept the top and bottom bins from the old grinder just in case. The old burrs were shot so I recycled the old machine at my town recycling site. I looked at all the high priced coffee snob grinders and many reviewers said they had to clean them very frequently. I’m not paying $350 for some prima donna grinder that’s all profit and no guts. This is my 3rd Capresso grinder in 14 years. I’m thinking that’s a pretty good record. Hope this helps!
