The lanyard works well.
I had high hopes, but no. An incredibly fussy device that just doesn't work. Installing the battery the first time, it wouldn't come on. Eventually got it to power up, but it never seemed to turn on the way the instructions said it did. Nor the same way each time. Holding the "Set" button for 3 seconds is supposed to power it down, but it shuts off as soon as you touch it. When using changing the settings, the icons flash dimly.(?)I tried using it adjacent to an airport, so getting accurate wind reports is easy. The wind was a steady 10mph with some gusts. Well the lanyard is more useful in estimating wind speed than the device. I set it up and watched it for a while, and even in the highest gusts it never got past 0.4mphJunk.
