Product Description
Quinclorac 1.5L Select™ is a selective, post-emergent herbicide that can be applied to many types of turf, both residential and non-residential, to control a variety of weeds. Quinclorac 1.5L Select™ can be applied from 7 days before seeding and up to 28 days after emergence on selected weeds. Quinclorac 1.5L Select™ is an auxin agonist and is classified as a quinoline carboxylic acid. It is absorbed by foliage and roots and translocated throughout the plant. The control symptoms exhibited by broadleaf weeds include leaf and stem curl or twisting, and chlorosis. Susceptible grasses demonstrate stunting, chlorosis, and gradual reddening followed by necrosis and death. Apply Quinclorac 1.5L Select™ to actively growing weeds as post-emergent broadcast or spot sprays using the turf species, rate and growth stages indicated on the label. The use of Quinclorac 1.5L Select™ before or after seeding or overseeding a turf area will not significantly interfere with the turfgrass seed germination and growth of those grass types identified as tolerant or moderately tolerant on the label.

I finally found a herbicide that can kill bindweed, and it's in an affordable small package.
Applying this without some kind of soap or other surfactant is really wasting whatever killing power it has as getting this chemical inside of the leaves of the plant is critical. You want the chemical to sit on the leaf, dry there and not be watered for a while. You want to apply this in the afternoon after a couple of hot dry days. One application will set the crabgrass back a bit but a weekly application will show the crabgrass who it is facing and cause it to lose hope.
I sometimes mix this (in the recommended proportions) with lawn weedstop so when I am applying this I can also take care of whatever other malefactors happen to be around. IN the end, the crabgrass always wins and using this chemical will not change that fact. But you can prevent it from spreading too badly and some of the crabby will wilt and die. And that may be as much of a victory as you are going to get.
Look for the bigger bottle where the price per volume is much better.
When applying this product I made sure the temperature was between 70 and 80° nothing higher nothing lower, for my measurements I applied 3 tablespoons per gallon I had a 2 gallon sprayer so I put 6 tablespoons inside of it I mixed a little surfactant which is like the soap so that it would stick to the leafs and I mean it really worked and targeted only the crabgrass, did not harm one blade of grass I was amazed I mean it literally suck the life out of the crabgrass without damaging anything else it would be nice if It killed other weeds also but I was very very pleased. And the crab grass was adult size large crabgrass not little
Sprouts.
