I rescue animals and right now I have 12 cats. I use crates and cages to quarantine and allow time to acclimate.
I have 2 feral rescues, both over a year old and both very light weight. The youngest is a wild little monkey who loves climbing the sides of the cage.
This isn’t the sturdiest cage but I think it’s just right for kittens and small/lightweight cats under 8lbs. Zip ties and cage clips are a great solution to increase stability. If you’re handy and willing to invest additional time and money to improve sturdiness, you can always reinforce the interior corners with some type of brace such as rods, wood pieces or metal. You likely have 4 items of some sort already around the house.
I also feel it would be a good option for a larger or older cat that isn’t hyperactive.
It was a bit time consuming to assemble but that was partially due to the fact that I had curious kitties surrounding me during the process. Once I assembled the first section I had the hang of it and it was fairly easy from that point.
I would recommend separating all the pieces, including the hardware, into stacks. I did this to inventory what I received compared to what was listed on the instructions/parts list. I put all pieces on the floor in the same order as the instructions. For example; 2 of part A, 4 of part B, etc.
That made it easier to go straight to the stack I needed and I think assembly was quicker and more efficient.
It’s easy to become frustrated with the process and determine the item is less than expected. My process of organizing pieces in order first made it easier for me. Figure out what works best for the way you process information. Wait until you’re relaxed and have an hour or two free time and conquer the day!
NOTE: The cage was a bit wobbly in a couple of sections. I realized I had not put the clips on correctly. Once I corrected my error the issue was resolved. It’s not Fort Knox but it works for me.
If you want a higher quality product you should expect to pay much more for it. I intend to order another one of these next month.

Great for quarantining
For an older kitten, it is a little more flimsy than what I would’ve preferred, but it does the job! We needed something in a pinch to quarantine our new kitten while undergoing treatments for sicknesses that he could spread to our other fur babies…. Especially something easy to disinfect daily! I think this cage would definitely be more suitable for younger kittens 2lbs and under due to the shaking of the cage when moving up each level. I would recommend getting food and water dishes that connect to the sides and off the floor of the cage. There’s not much room on the higher levels for dishes when the cat is also on the level, and they flip easily on the cloth barriers with extensive movement from a kitten with a ton of energy. I do like that the cloth barriers are easy to remove for washing, and the ladders hold up pretty well also! The hammock included is also really sturdy, made well, and our kitten loves to lounge in it while watching birds and people go by the window. All in all, this worked out great for our specific needs and I will probably keep this for outdoor use in the future if I don’t end up donating it to our local veterinarian.

Update: 24 April 2022 Still holding up strong. Lasted another litter of kittens. In fairness both were small litters(3 and 2). They are now 2 years old and still go in and hang out in the hammocks. Or sleep on top of it. Helpful if I need to contain them for an hour or two for whatever reason.
Highly recommend getting the container to attach to side for food and water helped for food time having one on each level to make sure everyone got food and not fighting over one.
Got for the kittens for when I have to go back to work. Helped significantly with litter box training. Wish I would have got it from the beginning. I feed them in there and leave them for a few hours after so they are going to the bathroom in the litterbox. I have a water bottle that attaches to the crate for them to drink. I also bought additional cushions and hammock(so you have some for when you clean the others, optional). The kittens really love the double hammock so if you have multiple kittens would recommend. Over all it is effective for what I got it for. Keep the kittens contained, and get them litterbox trained. Side note first time kitten parent Pellets suck just use regular litter(my kittens preferred it).
It's big enough that they are 3 months and still have plenty of room. I saw other reviews that they bought two to make a larger crate. Again depends on how many you have.
Putting together. Took a second to get used to how to put the connectors on, might want to practice before starting. If you have nails Good Luck. But after that it was pretty smooth sailing. Might be easier with 2 people but I did it just fine by myself. Though containing the kittens while putting together is helpful.
If you have newborn+ kittens or excepting kittens. Get this ASAP. Life safer I promise.
Also if you have dogs helps separate but get them familiar with each other.
