Great for copper plant markers!
I am using these to make copper plant markers for my perennials. These are just the right size for copper plant markers that are 2 1/2” x 1” (also ordered from Amazon). Each letter is approximately 3/16” tall, so the letters are small enough for some of the longer plant names without being so tiny that they can’t be read. Very easy to use—I’m using a small pad of paper beneath each marker so the stamp makes a nice impression into the copper when I tap it with a hammer. Looking forward to these copper markers developing a soft green patina. My only wish is that they had indicators to show which direction to orient the stamp, but it’s not a big deal if I just pay attention.

    I've used these stamps a few times for pottery. Within the second time closing the box, I noticed the latch doesn't stay snapped it. It's extremely thin and flimsy. So the box doesn't securely stay shut since the first day. I've had them for about 2 weeks now and I've also noticed a split in the wood on the back of the box. basically, the box is poor quality pine that hasn't been properly dried prior to constructing into a box.

    Regarding the important part of this item, the letters... Most of the letters work well, some of them are harder to get a nice print on and the 'Y' is a crooked (slanting to the right). Some letters that have issues making clean deep imprints (that' I've noticed so far) comparably to other letters are 'A', 'B', and 'K'. They do work under optimal circumstances. Not a deal breaker, but it would have also been nice if they had an imprint of the letters on top. Not only if you accidentally put the wrong stamp in the wrong slot, but you can also see which side is up right before you stamp.

    All in all, for the money, it's a really good deal. I haven't used it on metal, but it does work well for pottery / clay. If I find giant washers, I'll try to make dog tags in the future!
