Product Description
This ergonomically designed 6 In. sander features both a standard random-orbit mode and a direct-drive, eccentric-orbit turbo mode for aggressive stock removal. The BOSCH GET75-6 Dual-Mode Random Orbit Sander’s turbo mode delivers 3X the removal rate of standard random-orbit action. It has a tapered top handgrip with soft-grip design. The auxiliary handle mounts on either side of the sander for outstanding control. The sander features an enhanced multi hole pad system that is compatible with a wide variety of abrasive discs. The random-orbit action both orbits and rotates to provide a well-blended, ultra-smooth surface finish. It is built with an integral pad-dampening braking system to help prevent swirl marks, plus it has a soft microcellular hook-and-loop backing pad. The die-cast aluminum gear housing with dual-bearing pad mount helps lessen vibration. This tool has an enhanced dust-collection system for maximum efficiency when used with a vacuum cleaner and hose. Large channels in the pads allow debris to be easily pulled through vacuum port.

Pros:
Impressive Speed and Efficiency (5/5): The "beast mode" (turbo mode) switch sets this sander apart, saving valuable time and effort on sanding tasks.
Versatile Fine Sanding (5/5): It excels in fine sanding with its random orbit motion, making it a versatile tool for various applications.
Thoughtful Design (5/5): The sander's well-balanced design and strategically placed dust extraction port enhance its usability.
Cons:
Users should be aware that the sander can generate noticeable vibration, particularly when operating in turbo mode or at high speed. While I personally don't find it bothersome, some users may prefer to take this into account. Additionally, it's worth noting that this sander is heavier than most random orbit sanders, which could require some adjustment for users accustomed to lighter models. For newcomers, it's advisable to start with a test or scrap piece to become familiar with the sander's longer design, speed, and power. If using it indoors, investing in a shop vac or other dust collection system is a smart choice to keep the workspace clean.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the BOSCH Power Tools GET75-6N Electric Orbital Sander is a powerhouse tool that can significantly enhance your sanding projects. Its "beast mode" (Turbo mode) switch is a time-saving marvel, and it performs exceptionally well for fine sanding tasks. The sander's design and dust extraction features add to its overall usability. While it may generate some vibration and is heavier than typical random orbit sanders, these considerations are minor compared to the benefits it brings. For those new to this sander, a little practice on a test piece is recommended to get comfortable with its longer design and power. And if you're using it indoors, pairing it with a dust collection system is a wise move for a clean and efficient workspace. Overall, this sander is a fantastic investment for serious DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike.
Fully recommend this unit at half the cost of the Festool Rotex. See video upload of a walnut and epoxy serving tray- the point isn’t whether you like to mix epoxy into your wood projects, but it’s notoriously much harder to sand epoxy properly compared to hardwoods, so I include it for reference. This unit has a fairly agressive stroke, but if you use proper slow movement technique (i.e. 1” per second) and progress through the grits properly, you can achieve very good finish sanding results, even though it can also hog out material on forced rotation mode in lower grits really well too. I think this is as close as you can get to an all-in-one sander, especially for a decent price. Dust extraction is great, especially with net sandpaper because the pad has a ton of both large and small hole patterns...two rows of the larger holes (so double what you get in a standard big box sander) plus tons of small holes similar to what you see on the more advanced Festool or 3M sandpaper. I bet the Mirka Deros wild beat this unit in finish sanding and maybe even on some other categories, and probably festool could beat it in a category like dust extraction potentially, but not sure either of those or any other sander does all that this one does for the price you pay for the Bosch. Just get this one and invest in your preferred sandpaper brand with the money you save.
Original:
I am very impressed by this unit. It handles extremely well. Turbo mode has more power than you can imagine but creates a beautiful and productive result. In my first use, I smoothed rough walnut stock in quick time and then went to a finer grit with the regular orbital mode to achieve an incredible surface on which to apply Rubio Monocoat. Even with a cheap shop vac, dust collection exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this unit unless your workshop and craft somehow demands the other brand of green button tools, though I’m not sure that unit would actually be superior to this one, especially in light of the pricing difference.
10/29/19 Update: Note that the 2nd generation unit has an improved dust collection hole pattern (from what I can tell of the 1st generation’s hole pattern). There are very many smaller holes in addition to the normal larger ones that universal sanding papers have. My belief is that the 2nd generation is better positioned to take advantage of improving sand paper dust extraction technology and the new sanding nets.

Top reviews from other countries
The slabs I have previously had been laquered, so I need to remove that and some glue. This sander in turbo mode works well for those applications. It is also good for helping flatten slabs or laminated pieces. When I use it in normal mode its much quicker than using my old 5" sander. But 6" vs 5" is a big difference, plus the extra power.
It takes some time to get use to the size of it and how to balance it. Because of the dust collection port being the long tube on the side, it takes a bit to get used to. I use it with my vacuum, with the vacuum I find there is no dust. When I dont use the vacuum there is lots of dust left on the table, so if you want to get this its best to hook it up to something (especially since it removes lots of material). It has lots of power, especially in turbo mode so it takes some effort to keep it under control. If its a big job you will get tired holding on to it, but would be worse trying to do it with a normal 5" orbital and taking many times longer.
It is much better than a belt sander especially for removing lots of material quickly. It leaves a better finish and better for trying to keep things flat. The normal mode is great for typical sanding applications. Due to its size weight, awkwardness, I dont think I would use it on smaller items. So if you are considering purchasing this, think about the application you want it for. If you mainly do small tasks, you wont get the most out of it.
Dust collection working very well once hooked up to a vac
