I replaced them with this amplifier, and now all my outlets are working perfectly. I think my cable modem has a better connection to Comcast now as I'm getting 450MBps now. Was 250MBps before.
I'm going to need to use the remaining two connections when I remodel my basement.
I suggest you search out the latest guidelines from the MoCA group on how to connect your MoCA devices into your network so that you can plan out how to connect cable runs to this amp in the best way. There's a little bit of science behind it.
I split the incoming cable signal using a passive 2-way cable splitter, with one output running to a Spectrum cable modem and the other to the amplifier's input port. This isolated the modem from my MoCA network, beneficial for my DOCSIS 3.1 setup.
Then, given that the PPC-9M-U/U amp supports MoCA across all output ports (passive and amplified), I connected my cable lines to support 8 MoCA-networked locations
- Passive (voice) Out: main MoCA adapter at central panel with a Actiontec MoCA adapter Ethernet port connected to a LAN port on my router.
- Out 1-8 on splitter: cable lines to remote rooms
- Actiontec MoCA receiving adapters at the remote rooms connected to cable jack
- FireSticks to Ethernet through Actiontec adapters with Cat6 patch cable
Result: stable fast Ethernet (over 450 mbps) over Coax.
Very satisfied with my purchase.
