There’s also a somewhat negative video review on YouTube about this but the guy doesn’t read the instructions or properly adjust the player before trying it. This isn’t a one of those hipster suitcase players that’s ready to go out of the box. The setup is worth it, however. Clear sound, great pitch and tone and adjustable. Would recommend to anyone who wants something a bit more robust than those cheap suitcase players. Looks and feels better made. I like the semi-retro design coupled with some modern technology.
I bought some new vinyl's. They skipped on a $50 player without a weighted arm and anti-skate control. They did not skip on this player.
Highlights:
Pitch Control
Tone arm counter weight
Anti-skate
Stroboscope
Light up logo on the front
(I haven't had a chance to use the USB recording feature)
It did have trouble initially connecting with Bluetooth speakers, but once the pairing was made (turned them both on and off before trying to pair again and it worked) they connect effortlessly each time after.
It also does not have an auto-start/stop when moving the tone arm (which is available on much cheaper models). It will turn off after several minutes of inactivity, however.
First the bad: the timing strobe works (remains stationary) at 45 RPM, but not at 33 RPM, so I'd say not as advertised on that. Bluetooth connectivity as other have reported is also extremely spotty; at times I have connected to both headphones and speakers no problem, other times behavior is totally erratic, player indicates connected when not, can't find any devices, etc. I suspect the issue is cheap BT components in the player itself, not user error as has been suggested in other reviews. There is no auto-off or auto return, but the player will shut off after 5-10 mins of no output.
On the other hand, the tone arm counterweight works great (I play back order records that need the added weight) and the dust cover is definitely doing its job. Needle is best replaced with something higher quality but it has performed fine so far. Feet on player have some vibration protection, but don't appear to be height adjustable.
Two things to note: didn't have an appropriate amp with the current setup, but you CAN listen to records over wired headphones with just an RCA input to3.5mm (or 1/4) output cable, just make sure the preamp switch is set to ON. No volume control with this solution, but I have not needed it as sound output is at a good middle level. Second, the slider on the right side of the device is ONLY for variable speed (pitch control), no volume control associated with that slider. Not a big deal since 90% of the time you'll be using an amp with this anyway, but worth noting.
Overall at ~$150 I think this player is a good value, IF you don't absolutely require the advertised Bluetooth capabilities; they work sometimes, but I suspect cheap components make the experience hit or miss, at best. Besides this, I think the tone arm counterweight, strobe timing (even if it is a bad imitation of higher end implementations), pitch/speed control slider, and USB and preamp output make this a good value compared to other products at a similar or slightly higher (~$200) price also available on Amazon. Things like dust cover and tone arm lifter should be a given at this price, and worked well on this model.
The only con I can see it is from the strobe light. The dots on the platter are calibrated correctly, but the light itself is not. I could not get the 33 1/3 dots to stand still at anything close to the correct speed. After some troubleshooting (and a strobe app on my phone) I found that a 25hrtz strobe got the 33 1/3 and the 45 dots to stand. I did not try the 78, since I don't own anything at that speed anyway. So everything is almost working exactly how I wanted it to, except that strobe light. But, since that can be solved with a free app, I am still giving it 4.5-5 stars.
The software that comes with it is very comprehensive but has a bit of a learning curve. Overall, this is a bargain price for the quality involved.

The cartridge is an AT3600L which is pretty good, but you can upgrade it if you like. The headshell is not removable, so you will have to fiddle with the connector wires to do it. The counterweight and tracking force ring are not very useful. The easiest way to calibrate, if you have a jewellers gram scale you can remove the platter and put the gram scale there and rest the needle down on it and turn the counterweight to adjust the tracking force.
Just listened to a record on my stereo with the build in preamp. It sounds like an AT3600L, maybe a bit "bright". Running this through a tube buffer amp like the FOSI or SUCA would add warmth, and give you a bass and treble control.
The anti-skate works perfectly. I tested it on the blank side of an old laserdisc, and it holds it's position wherever you set it.
There is no auto shutoff so it will keep spinning when it reaches the center part of the record, so you have to stop it manually.
It has a good solid weight and I even wiped the deck sides with windex and a paper towel while a record was playing and extraneous noise came through in the sound.
Haven't tried recording yet. Audacity doesn't work on Ubuntu 22.04, but Ocenaudio, which is also free, does.
The dust cover does scratch very easily.
I think it's a good value buy. Like someone else said it's half the price of the ATX120 and as good or better.
