Emphasis on the muscle
While virtually any type of squat focuses on the thighs, but the hex bar puts an even greater emphasis on the quadriceps. Hex bar squats also engage the gluteus maximus and minimus, adductor Magnus thigh muscles and soleus calf muscles. They help other muscles complete a movement. The hamstrings and calves serve as stabilizers, or muscles that help your body maintain a certain posture.

Anyways, this bar has accurately documented its measurements and the sleeve length is more than enough for me. I'm not lifting anything too heavy, but it has done fine holding 4 plates on each side with room to spare.
The bar arrived clean and pre-oiled which was a nice touch too.
The knurling is perfect for my hands. It's a little rough with adequate grip, but not as painful as other bars I've used.
I would definitely recommend this bar to others.
My biggest concern with purchasing one was the need to buy new plates because I have bumper plates which are larger than metal plates. I really wanted to buy a Rogue TB-2 bar, but after seeing that total cost to get one was $500 I found this bar which was less than half that shipped. The main draw to the Rogue bar was its sleeve length (16in) and its quality, but this bar has extended sleeves vs. most others (13.6" vs. 10") which help considerably and so far the quality is great. You should be able to load 8-45lb bumpers with a collar vs. only three with the shorter hex bars. 8 bumpers is only 406lbs (my bar weighs 46lbs), which is not enough for higher strength oriented sets or 1RM attempts but is a good weight for overall training capacity for most people. Typical metal plates are 1.3in vs. 3.25in for bumpers, so with 3 bumpers and 2 metal each side you can get to 496lbs which is probably enough for 99% of the population, and full metal plates (10 per side) you could get to 946lbs...which is enough for 99.99% of the population, the bar is rated to 1100lbs. There may be other min/maxing of metal plates, for example 100lb plates are 2in normally, which will exceed the bars rating with more than 5. Enough about plate loading...
The bar feels sturdy, was priced great, and arrived in great-undamaged shape. I have no issues with it thus far and if something happens later on, I will update this review but so far I recommend it 100%.
