This is my first time using an Alum bar so I didn't quite no what to expect. I am a head shaver so when I finished my shave for the night, I applied the product as directed. Yikes! I wasn't expecting the burn! Nevertheless I felt that my head and face were well treated. I applied my regular after shave balm afterwards. I did not rinse the Alum bar off. Myy head is still stinging. Tomorrow I will try again but rinse my head and face after applying this.
BTW, the shipping and price were outstanding! Will likely order again when and if this package ever runs out.

It is potassium alum, so the bars do work as expected for post-shaving and antiperspirant use. But the bars are poured/pressed crystals, not cut from solid alum, so I don’t expect them to last very long. Note the telltale white middle, versus the fairly clear outer portion, plus the substantial hole in the center. I got what I paid for, but I’m still searching for the good old solid alum blocks, like my dad used to use.
