Durable, well worth the added expense

Durable, well worth the added expense
This is an item we purchased for our workplace a few years ago, it’s now done two winters and is being taken out of storage in the above pics to prepare for some seed spreading followed by another winter of salt spreading. It has held up extremely well, corrosion is minimal, it functions exactly the same as it did day one.It fit the criteria we were looking for of being mostly durable plastic instead of metal, as this would be covered in wet salt for most of its time in use and then left in storage for the other half of the year. There has not been any plastic failure yet, though some parts of the bucket do show some stress marks, they have not progressed and it’s mostly from slamming it into things, i highly doubt those would be seen with normal use.Assembly was easy and the included instructions were very concise, it comes with a few spare parts (which we still keep around just in case), and the only suggestion I would share for others on assembly is you’d want wrenches and sockets to make it easier for yourself. It is absolutely doable with one person. One of the wheels on ours has been loose since we got it, but it hasn’t effected anything, it’s very slight.Overall if anything was a test of a device like this, of this size and such, it’s daily winter use throwing large amounts of wet salt/sand mixture all over a cross dock’s trailer yard. The pictures included are the only cleaning it’s received in two years where I just wiped it down quickly with some wet wipes to show the plastic stress. This is bombproof, and was the perfect choice for our uses. This was so fitting for the needs here that it became a “standard operational equipment” item for all sites within the company. Any time any other site goes to order up a spreader, their first suggestion from the company is this spreader. This is all ignoring its actual performance in terms of spreading, which is adequate, as expected. It throws salt all over the place and the directional baffles work as they should. Not much to say there, it’s doing as advertised.
