I'm thrilled with this camcorder! Solid build quality. Long, sharp zoom lens, fast auto focus, great image stabilization, fantastic image quality in daylight and even decent image quality in low light. I think the only negative thing I can say about it is that the menu is not very intuitive to navigate but that's about it. Some of the manual options may be a bit limited but if you are a documentary film maker my guess is that you are probably looking at higher end cameras with larger sensors. I don't think there are any other 4K camcorders at this price point that come close to this one in image quality and features. If you are looking for a 4k camcorder but are on the fence, just buy this one now because you will NOT regret it. This camcorder is awesome!

If you are searching for a 4K camcorder -- you can end your search. This camcorder is fantastic.This is my upgrade from a Canon HD camcorder. The detail and zoom capabilities are fantastic. It can handle dark scenes very well. First camcorder I have used where the photos are actually good -- not as good as my Nikon SLR, but definitely gives you the option of just taking this camera for both video and photos. The videos are too large to load samples, but they look great, and the video stabilizer is very impressive. You can film while walking, or from a car, and the processing really does reduce camera shake.When you use the 4K photo mode, you really can pause the video and view the still image as a photo - amazingly detailed. The mic is large and picks up everything. Wind cut works well.I think the default settings are a bit dark, but the camera allows you to customize exposure settings, so you can tailor to your needs.Impressed so far!

I was worried this would be too complicated to work and similar quality to my phone camera. I'm glad I had nothing to worry about.
I have a Samsung 20 Note Ultra with a pretty good camera, which is what I use to use, but I can definitely tell this is much better quality. I use the AI auto, and it's auto focus is great, and it adjusts the lighting as needed, and it does all this without making it obvious that it's doing it.
I use this to record my demonstrations, as well a do live demos over zoom. I was able to get some inexpensive accessories and hook this up to my laptop, and mount it to my ceiling, which is where is stays.
Very happy with my purchase.
