I really like this stand for a lot of reasons. But I also dislike it for two major flaws. The central post support clamp being plastic and the box jaws designed to hold a bike frame. The boxed jaws are really only going to be good if your frame is round. Not for boxed, triangled or even some ovalled style frames. The big wide stands of the feet make this stand quite sturdy. Despite being a slight trip hazard, I prefer them to the Pro version of this stands V leg design. The central mount that holds the bar to the clamp doesnt feel like it could last all that long. My bike is an Aventon L2 Commuter ebike. It doesnt max out the 66lbs weight of the stand, but it is close at 57lbs with my accessories installed. No matter how much i tightened that central bars clamp, the bar the jaw is connected to just kept rotating. Unfortunately, with where I had to clamp to my frame, the weight distribution was not ideal. The central clamp really made no attempt to stop the bike from twisting. Not a big deal, but the plastic was really stressing at the points where you twisted the clamps down. The boxed shape jaws are very hard to get a good clamp with. My bike having a triangular shape to the frame, the jaws really would not clap to the top bar it all, I had to clamp the jaws around the vertical bar under the seat. Throwing the bikes weight off considerably. But the clamp did work there. My brothers bike has an oval frame, and while the clamp held, it really wasnt the most secure feeling. If the jaws were oval or rounded, I feel they would hold much better despite the odd shape of each frame. The plastic of the jaws were flexing considerably when I had my Aventons full weight on them. The edges where the blue rubber pads were the most affected. One set of pads fell off while the bike was mounted, and the bike slipped a bit, it didnt fall off, but was jarring to have it happen. It would be really nice to have a different style of jaw come out to replace these, or a few different styles for a few different frame types. The current jaw clamps just dont really feel well thought out. A replacement style would really help improve where this stand lacks. The stand was easy to put together, has a nice little tray with a small magnet in it to hold on to bits an bobs you may have to place in it. There are notches in the side to hang a tool or part from, and the stabilizer bar for the steering bar is quite nice too. There is a bit of weight to the stand itself, so it feels really good overall. The feet of the stand have small holes so you could stake them to the ground or secure them to a floor for even more stability. One thing that gets me tho, on the steering stabilizer bar, the plastic end on the black bar keeps popping off. I glued it in place so all is good for me now with that. Overall, shortcomings aside, I really do like this stand. I just have to be careful of those two weak links and hope they maybe fix them for us all soon. A little bit more weight capacity could be nice too. If you have a regular circle tube styled bike frame, and its a nice light bicycle... This frame would be a great deal for you at the price. But If you have an odd styled frame, this stand could be hit or miss for you. It will work for me, but with compromises.
