I am always skeptical of products like this because most seem to me okay at best. This actually riddled my front yard of snakes!
We had a couple garter snakes that loved to hang around on top of our bush right outside the front door. It would frighten our 8 and 5 year old anytime they saw it laying there since it was within a foot of the door. It got to the point where it just hung out there every single day. I decided to get this and haven’t seen any since. I went through the whole container over the course of a year and here we are 3 years later and I still haven’t seen a snake in my front yard. I haven’t even bought another container since the first one! Amazing product!

Update: Large Cottonmouth in yard
I purchased Dr. T's Snake away two years ago and this product by Ortho works about the same but with some improvements. Snake B Gon comes in a plastic shaker bottle which makes for easy dispense. Also, Dr T's is not safe around pets where Ortho is safe around people, pets and plants. Active Ingredients are: Cinnamon Oil, Geraniol, Castor Oil, Mint Oil, Clove Oil which have a strong aroma that repels reptiles, but the smell is not so over-bearing and unpleasant.Directions: Remove seal under cap and replace shaker top. Hold bottle with shaker top pointed forward and down. Shake bottle side-to-side to dispense. Liberally apply to turf and soil around flowers and other plants making sure to apply an even amount. When using on edible crops, apply the product when no above-ground harvestable food commodities are present, including blossoms. Repeat application as needed usually every 30 days.I had to repeat application about every 2 weeks with Dr T's Snake Away 4 lb. bag which can be expensive all summer long. I used the entire 2 lbs. of Ortho Snake B Gon around my flower beds in my front yard and around of my fence over a week ago and I'm hoping I will not have to repeat application as often. But so far... I've seen no snakes in my yard. By this time of year, in the deep South, I've usually killed 3-4 snakes. The smell was strong during the first day but gradually diminishes where it's unnoticeable. Rain diminishes the smell and weakens the granules as well.Update: From my experience with various snake repellents where venomous and nonvenomous snakes and other reptiles are plentiful, repellents are a waste of time and money. Lizards and small snakes scurry away when first applied. After a few days up to a week, the smell diminishes and reptiles come back. However, large snakes slither through the repellent without any problem.I have been using repellents in my yard, around my fence and house for over 2 years in hopes I would find a product that distracts poisonous snakes, but nothing has worked except a shotgun. As one can see by the last photo I posted, a large cottonmouth came through my fenced in yard towards one of my parked vehicles where I had applied more snake repellent a week earlier.I have spent hundreds of dollars on many products to rid my property of these nuisances, yet I still relocate and kill just as many snakes each year as if I've never took hours to spray and sprinkle a thick perimeter with all these repellents around my house, garden and fence.

I'm terrified of snakes (female) so I decided to purchase this to sprinkle around the house, flowerbeds, and the walkways after seeing a few snake skins laying around. It seemed to work fine until we had a few good days of rain. The last 3 days in a row, I've seen live snakes for the first time out around my patio. I generously sprinkled the snake-b-gon out front, but he came back the very next day, taunting me with that little pink tongue. While he was hanging out, blocking me from exiting my house, I sprinkled some directly onto him... he wasn't very happy with me, and after giving me a dirty look, he slithered away under some leaves. I'm 99% sure he's living under my patio, and even though I've generously applied the product there, he keeps tormenting me on a daily basis.
Overall, I'd have to say the product works... sort of, because the snake surely didn't like it when it was sprinkled on/by him. I don't think it's doing enough to keep him away, because every morning I'm greeted by this anaconda preventing me from leaving the house.
