Large 80mm ED lenses and Extra-low Dispersion lenses. 18mm eye relief.
This binoculars are heavy. You need a tripod and observing chairs.
I recommend for serious amateur astronomers!
I still can't forget the wonderful view.
M4 Scorpius Globular Cluster, M7 Ptolemy Open Cluster, M13 Hercules Globular Cluster,
M31 Andromeda Galaxy, M42 Orion Nebula, M45 Pleiades Cluster / Hyades Cluster, NGC 869/884 Double Cluster...
I compared them side by side to a Skymaster Pro 20x80 and there was no comparison really. The view was much clearer and colors seemed brighter, especially on long range objects from a mile away. These ED lens are no joke. I have a pair of Carson 3D 10x42's with ED glass and these are on that level which to me is outstanding. I am no optics expert, but I know what I see with my own two eyes. No collimation issues at all. These are also lighter than the Skymaster Pro and just slightly smaller, but not by much. In fact, these are light enough one could hold in their hands for short periods of time, but no one would want to do that for very long with a Skymaster Pro. Obviously, a tripod is the way to go for stable viewing. The case is also nicer than the Skymaster Pro if you are into that kind of thing. I think Celestron makes great products, but to me this sets a new standard by Orion.
So far I'm impressed.
