I purchased this slicing guide to go with Mama's Great Ultra Sharp Serrated Bread Knife for Homemade Bread with 10.5 Inch Wide Wavy Edge because I was having trouble cutting even slices of my bread machine loaves. My husband and I both heartily agree that it was a very good purchase. What nice slices we're getting using the knife with this slicing guide. For anyone having the problem of the guide sliding around while you're slicing, I spread out the dampened dish cloth that I use to clean the kitchen counters on the counter and placed the slicing guide on it. No sliding at all and it caught any crumbs that might drop under. I'll give the guide a coat of the same food grade mineral oil that I use on wooden cutting boards and bowls to keep the bamboo from drying out. We are very happy with this purchase!

HIGH SLICING GUIDES
The 6.1” slicing guides are taller than on most bread slicers. The slicing guides are higher than your loaf of bread, hence no need to eyeball where to insert the knife for that perfect cut.

Really works!
Where has this been all my life? I've used bread machines off and on for decades. I recently bought a new one. This time I decided to get a bread slicer instead of always having varying sizes of bread slices. Even with a cast on my broken wrist, this sliced the bread perfectly. I did have to move the bread down a bit so I could continue to have the same sizes of slices. Very happy with this.

Decent but not perfect.
Decent bread slicer, although I didn’t expect the guides to be plywood. One side is very much tighter than the other - enough that it’s actually difficult to force it into the slot. Hoping that it will shave itself down with use. Trying to force it in makes me feel like I’ll eventually break it.MCDecent but not perfect.
