So far, it's a nice pair of leather boots
I'm retired, and as such, no longer stand on concrete all day for 12+hours. I also no longer require expensive work boots with steel toes. I have a small shop where I work with wood instead of steel. I was in need of leather boots that offer some protection for my toes, and ankle support. I wanted them to be leather and lace up, unlike the slip on steel toes I was using. I also wanted them to be attractive. I saw these for under $60, and decided to give them a try. Here are my findings... 1. They are indeed made of leather. The sides, toes, and upper are real leather. 2. They provide really good grip on sawdust dusted concrete. 3. They provide a bit of protection across the toes by adding an additional toe cup under the outer leather. It can be pressed in some with your thumb, but it's going to need a heavy impact to hurt your toes. 4. There is room to wiggle your toes. 5. The provided insoles could be better, but the addition of a pair of good gel insoles makes them better. Since I didn't remove the original insoles when I added the gel insoles, a little bit of the room I had in the toes was made less. Still, I have wiggle room. 6. They look like the more expensive boots, at a fraction of the cost, so if boots are nothing more than a fashion statement to you, these will work well. 7. The laces provided don't feel like they'll last long, but that's easy to remedy. I'm replacing mine with leather laces. 8. I've read complaints about them not being waterproof. Leather isn't naturally waterproof, and will require care. I've treated mine with mink oil right out of the box, like I've done with all my past leather boots. It protects the leather from water and keeps it from drying out and cracking. I suggest this to any leather boot buyer. 9. They've got some weight, but that's because of the leather. Those that complained that they feel heavy must not have ever owned leather workbooks. But...they're much lighter than steel toes boots. Overall, they're what I expected them to be at the pricepoint...a decent pair of leather boots that I expect Timo last a year or so. If they last longer, I'll be pleasantly surprised. I've paid over $300 for workboots that have lasted over 5 years, so doing the math, one year is my expectation. So far, I'm happy with them.

    Wore them in the office all day today - so other than walking down the lane - I haven't used them outside.
    I decided to try them because of the price point and the reviews.
    The non-waterproof description is not unexpected - you're not going to get Gore-tex at this price! So I just did what a lot of people have done & applied a good coat of mink oil. It darkened them up nicely and seemed to absorb it well, so hopefully that will help with keeping the water at bay. We'll see, and I'll post an update after some more use.
    **UPDATE**
    So I have had these almost 60 days now & we just had a 12" snow storm. I wore these boots exclusively for a week outside in the snow AND inside the office for 8 hours a day and I have to say I am impressed with them! As stated above, I coated them quite liberally with mink oil since they are not advertised as "waterproof" and I was hoping that would help - and it definitely did! Now - I have not fully immersed them in water, but I have been out in the snow for hours at a time & they have not allowed any moisture in. In the office, they were not uncomfortable to have on all day & since they are newer, they still look presentable!
    Bottom line, don't be afraid to try them! The price point might make you suspicious, but to me theyy are a great boot at a great price. NOW - I do not make a living doing construction or heavy work all day in a boot. If that is you - and you have had experience with other high-end work boots - then you may have a different opinion and I fully understand that. But for the "weekend warrior" who needs a decent boot at a decent price, these really work for me.

    Very well made and comfortable. I usually buy 'CAT' work boots with Goodyear welt soles. These are similar to CAT's "Second Shift" steel toe boots. The quality of leather, materials, stitching and construction is at the same level, in fact the soles are very similar. This is my first day at work with them and I have hiked an hour in the woods with them climbing over fallen trees, river rocks and scrambling up steep terrain with my dog. So good grop and traction. I haven't noticed anything the least bit uncomfortable. I wear size 9.5 regular and the fit was perfect. Considering that they are built similar to the CAT boots I mentioned, these will keep your feet dry walking in the rain, but in heavy wet grass, or walking through standing water, they will leak through without an oil or paraffin coating.

    Have used for a week at work and no problems. Boots have been covered in rock salt for hours at a time while unloading salt trucks and traversing piles of the dumped material. Have been subjected to long term wet from hoses and also dirt and hot asphalt from street jobs. Although it's only been a week I have no problems to report. Most boots for me don't last 6 months because of the harsh environments and abuse. If I get six months out of these I'll be satisfied. Why pay $150 plus when they'll just get wrecked in no time?

    I did give the boots 3 good applications of mink oil over the weeend before use. They were so soft after that, there was no break-in period...instant comfort. When I get back to the shop at end of shift I just hose them off and put in my locker for next shift.

    The boot was very comfortable. I had to go down one size because it was very sloppy. I went down a half size from my normal size and it was better but the boot has a lot of room in it. I would suggest putting some inserts in to try and stop the movement of the heel but for the price the boot was good and I don’t wear them a lot I would not use them as a daily boot. I don’t know how long they’ll last, but I’m giving them a try.

    These boots are fantastic & easily in the category of purchase again & recommend them to friends/co-workers whether they ask or not they are that good.

    I work with oil a lot of oil most boots even resistant ones seemingly melt or vulcanized to the point of failure within 6 months of first exposure. These boots have lasted more than a year and are still solid. They fit well, breathe solid and the stitching is exceptional.
    My 1 complaint is the inclusion of the interrupted speed loops. Speed loops by definition are to be the top 2-4 fasteners that lace off a boot. Not 2 sets of speed loops followed by a lace eye... So annoying.
