Thank goodness I finally found something that will cut my Great Pyrenees extra thick double coat and matted pantaloons from the winter. I tried a couple other professional grade pet clippers and they did nothing. Like they wouldn't even cut a single hair. These dog's coats are crazy thick. It's like, well, wool.
These Sheep Shears - oh my. AMAZING. I literally laughed aloud with glee as they cut my dog's hair. It was like literal butter on these mattes. Is the cut perfectly even? Nope (might get better with practice), but I don't care. My dog is groomed and he's super happy to not be wearing a 6 inch winter coat outside in the Summer. I wish I had bought these years ago. (I know it said not for dogs, but literally nothing for dogs worked. If you have a super thick coated dog - this is perfect).

Decent shears for the price
These are the first set of shears I’ve ever purchased, and for the price they’re not too bad. Easy assembly and ready to use out of the case. Our lambs have never been shorn and their wool was thick and matted in some places but these cut right through easily.Two issues:1. The blades got hot after prolonged use and the lambs became agitated when I used them on their undersides where the wool wasn’t as thick. Take breaks and let them cool down during use.2. The screws holding the blades in place worked themselves loose from all the vibrations and they fell off during use. Thankfully this happened when I was using them in a downward motion and they fell onto the stand in the pile of wool and didn’t shoot across the barn and hurt someone. The blades were very hot to touch when I picked them up to reattach. I let them cool completely before I reassembled. Thinking back on this I should have tightened the screws between animals and it likely could have been avoided. Live and learn.I’ve shared the sales link for these to a friend for her teen son to use on their sheep as they will also be a good starter set, but I’ll be sure to tell him about my experiences so these issues can be avoided.

I ordered BEETRO 500W, Electric Professional Sheep Shears, Animal Grooming Clippers for Sheep Alpacas Goats... after reading through several reviews. I have prior experience as a dog groomer, so felt confident that I could adjust to shearing sheep. The shears worked great. I didn't feel any resistance while it was going through the wool. I oiled the blades well and often as stated in the instructions, and in some earlier reviews, and they never got hot. I used them for the neck and body moving downward at the top of the legs so as not to cut the skin where the legs attach to the body.
I love these clippers!! No problem on my first shearing.

to trim around her head, face, legs, and under belly because I felt it was easier for me and safer for her.
They also work great!
Her fleece is amazing and she is happy. No nicks and very few second cuts.
My stand was a repurposed milk stand, using my wagon sides to help keep her from falling off the sides.
The instructions say not to use on dogs. I would agree.
I would highly recommend these clippers for an owner of a small flock of sheep.
