AI-generated from the text of customer reviews
Customers find the coffee filter easy to use. They mention that it doesn't change the flavor of the coffee, is easy to put on and easy to take off. Some customers also say that it works on nespresso pods.
"...They are easy to put on and easy to take off...." Read more
"Less expensive then pods, easy to use an able to choose my favorite coffee from home." Read more
"...These are OK, fit well, easy to use, but there is some leakage of grounds...." Read more
"...to my husband I was correct years ago that these things were too time consuming, wonky..." Read more
Customers are satisfied with the value of the coffee filter. They say it saves them money over the pre-made Nespresso, and is a frugal way to use their Nesspressa machine.
"This product is a money saver. It works wonderfully with empty nespresso pods...." Read more
"Less expensive then pods, easy to use an able to choose my favorite coffee from home." Read more
"...I like being able to use my own coffees and flavors. Plus, it's much less expensive." Read more
"Easy to use and saves me a ton of money." Read more
Customers are mixed about the performance of the coffee filter. Some mention that it's easy to use and works great, while others say that it doesn't work well, the foil is much flimsier then the other they had purchased, and the machine rejected it at first, flashing red and only dispensing a few drops. It's worky and takes some trial and error.
"I’ve been using these since February, they worked so great with my Nespresso pods...." Read more

"...I was correct years ago that these things were too time consuming, wonky..." Read more
"...: I did have one bad batch with this product but generally, they work really well for making my own capsules...." Read more
Customers are mixed about the quality of the coffee filter. Some mention that the idea is good and the product quality is great, while others say that it's a bit flimsy and cumbersome to use, and does not really work. Some say that the new ones broke after most uses, and are either too thin or made of inferior materials to survive use in a Nepresso.
"...Not worth the effort." Read more
"...The quality and texture of foil is great and I have no issues with these foil lids." Read more
"...Clearly I'm horrible at explaining this but long story short, not worth it...." Read more
"...These are OK, fit well, easy to use, but there is some leakage of grounds...." Read more
Customers are mixed about the adhesion of the coffee filter. Some mention that they are impressed with the adhersion, while others say that it only sticks slightly. Some customers find that their pods retain a bit of the adhesive when they go to refill them, and the glue part isn't all that sticky. When opening to remove the pod, it sticks to the coffee machine lid, and making a cup of coffee, the pod sticks to he bottom of the pod holder in the coffee maker.
"...However, they changed it. Now the lids are thinner and don’t stay on the pods...." Read more
"...Although, I was impressed with the adhesion, and the simplicity of the design; it is just too long of a process to make it worth the 35.00 in..." Read more
"...on the foil which help to position the foil on the Pod, but it's too sticky, I mean the glue on the foil is so strong that make the Pod to stick and..." Read more
"...These are just adhesive so they’re a lot easier to remove once it’s time to load again.I purchased a tamper separately...." Read more
Customers are not satisfied with the seal of the coffee filter. They mention that it is easy to break and makes coffee powder leak everywhere, allowing liquid and grounds to escape into the machine where they are not supposed to be. This causes a mess and makes less in the cup. The foil rips, causing liquid and coffee grounds to flow through properly and into the pod canister, where they overflow into the waste-capsule chamber, making a messy mess. The lid to peel back, so coffee has been all over the inside of their new machine.
"...Now the lids are thinner and don’t stay on the pods. They unseal in the machine creating complete mess and destroying my coffee..." Read more
"...These are OK, fit well, easy to use, but there is some leakage of grounds...." Read more
"...This seal is not just aluminum as it does have a thin layer of stretchy plastic lining underneath to provide that added flexibility...." Read more
"...They seal okay for the first half of the extraction, then the pressure continues to build and water escapes the pod around the edges of the injector..." Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the sturdiness of the coffee filters. They mention that the filters tear during the brewing process, resulting in coffee shoots all over the capsule area. The foil cracks under the pressure and heat of the espresso machine, causing the coffee to spill.
"...pretty well, I think the flaw with all foil seals is that the foil tears easily, so that’s what happens when the coffee maker closes on it to make..." Read more
"...The glue part isnt all that sticky. They break - actually tear way too much in the Nespresso coffee maker...." Read more
"...best foil, easy to install, easy to remove to refill coffee cups, does not tear much, it seems they have better foil material. Will recommend!..." Read more
"...The Nespresso machine always puts a large X tear in the foil when it punctures it. Others I have used do not rip like this...." Read more

Pro tip: I toss my used pods in the freezer until I need to refill pods, the used coffee comes out way cleaner!
Tips:
Thoroughly clean/empty used pods.
Cut remainder of original seal with blade or angled scissors
Let dry fully on racks or wipe dry
Find item similar in size to pod opening to pack down coffee grounds (1/4 or 1/8 cup measuring cups work perfect for both loading and packing)
Load each pod with approx 1/4 cup coffee grounds or less depending on the packing
Pack grounds lightly
Put the foil on one end with approx 1/8 inch overhang and roll rest across top
Use fingers to press on sides to seal
Optional to bend overhang over sides for added protection (I personally have never had one unsealed this way)
Store and use within a few weeks
The first time my husband ordered these, and my fancy pants said no way I was going to take all that time and effort, blah, blah, blah, and continued (stupidly) for an embarrassingly amount of time buying the brand name pre-made ones. Why am I telling you this?...
Fast forward a few years and suddenly the cost of everything has gone up 20%, but our salaries didn't - I do realize in the grand scheme of things coffee pods are an extreme luxury, but I do maintain a super unhealthy relationship with caffeine, so I selfishly need/want it, and these little buddies help me maintain my habit, while staying in my budget.
Looking to cut cost while still using my machine, I read some reviews, some good, some bad, and thought I would at least try, 120 for like $15, why not? They arrived, I took out some of my old pods, washed, dried, and broke out a regular dark roast, and made a few. AND LET ME TELL YOU - They were terrible. I immediately went to the living room to declare to my husband I was correct years ago that these things were too time consuming, wonky (they didn't fit, what is all this crap around the edges, do I press it down?), and they are a waste, and went back to the kitchen to clean up.
Unfortunately I was born with the "I can't let this stupid thing beat me" gene, so I looked up few videos online and I started over, slowly, and with a little bit of patience I got it, and had a GREAT cup of coffee in 15mins.
I've been using these for about a month, on a daily basis I drink about 8 pods (I know, i know). I have made so many of these, I'm pretty sure I could take a used pod, clean, dry, fill, cover and brew, blindfolded in under 3 mins now. I now also enjoy shopping for coffee, it's nice to be able to pick something out even if it's just from the grocery. Even better so far in a month, I've saved around $120-150.
Taking the few days to practice getting it right is going to save me around $1500 annually, so these actually do work and for me they are worth it.
I would recommend!
Old review: I ordered this product many times and it worked great. However, they changed it. Now the lids are thinner and don’t stay on the pods. They unseal in the machine creating complete mess and destroying my coffee (and the whole morning as a result of that, at times). I have to clean my machine after every use pretty much now. I’m looking for a better option

I’ve tried others, and I will gladly pay a few extra bucks for these.
Once you’ve tried others, you will come back, because these actually stay on the capsules.
The quality and texture of foil is great and I have no issues with these foil lids.

I bought these to see if I could make doubleshots with some Lavazza Super Crema beans I have. Well, I had high hopes but in the end they didnt work out...heres why.
The first half of every extraction looked as it should( A steady stream of crema). Then about half way through the extraction would become water and ruin everything. This happened repeatedly using different grind sizes, different beans, different sized pods, different weights of coffee.
Im matching the exact same fineness and weight of the coffee in the original pod. Yet every time Im consistantly getting good extraction for about half of the pour then it immediately turns to water.
After doing a bunch of experiments and examining fresh Nespresso Vertuo pods I've come to the conclusion that these foil seals dont "seal" well enough to allow pressure to build in the pod during extraction. They seal okay for the first half of the extraction, then the pressure continues to build and water escapes the pod around the edges of the injector port and exit holes. The original Nespresso seals are not foil. They're made of a flexible plastic that hugs the water injection port tightly once pierced.
Conclusion: If your reusable seals are made of foil they probably wont work. Or at least they'll hinder your espresso tasting anywhere remotely palatable.
