My daughter cracked the spare tire cover on her RAV4 when she backed into someone. Replacements were hundreds. This repair kit did a great job. *Highly recommend* practicing on a scrap first. You can easily melt all the way through your work piece if you aren't careful. Repair held up on a cross-country trip.

    I purchased this recently and my only question is; Why didn't I do this a long time ago. The price on this is very reasonable and they are so simple to use. They are awesome at fixing your broken plastics. So far everything I have repaired is holding like new. I would recommend looking at some Utube videos on how to best use this tool. i clean up the little tabs with my Dremel sander, then touch up and fill in areas with a soldering iron and black tie strap. It makes a very good looking repair that is good and strong. This is probably one of the most useful tools that I now own.

    This tool seems to work. I bought it to repair a plastic garden cart that we use a lot during the warm part of the year., but that is no longer made or available to buy. I used the tool as instructed and the cracks seem to be repaired. We’ll see how it holds up when we start using it. The instructions could be clearer, but it’s not rocket science so I’m pretty sure I’ve got it as good as it’s going to get.

Fixed plastic cabinet slider brackets, storage drawer frame etc, even the bridge on a pair of sunglasses. Comes with enough metal retaining inserts for probably a lifetime. Clipping pliers work but poor quality. Storage box latches broke within a few days and unfortunately are too thin to repair with product itself. Bought another storage box for it to use instead.

    I really liked the ease at which to use this to melt the metal staple into the plastic you are trying to repair. It only takes seconds from the time you pull the trigger until the staple melts into the plastic and only takes 3 seconds after you stop pressing the trigger for it to harden. A draw back is filing down the excess material from the staple to make the job smooth. Also you need a few staples to make the job secure and the possibility of it happening again, ;you have to use a few staples.

    I do a fair amount of car plastic repairs like bumpers, and without it I don't think anything any of them would hold. Not only do I use the staples, but I also use the tool to blend the two sides of the crack with a staple that I zig-zag over the crack, effectively joining the two halves togethet besides stapling them together.
