Featuring versatile connection options, wireless printing and scanning, duplex printing plus fast print and scan speeds. Supported by the free Brother Mobile Connect³ App that provides a convenient user interface enabling printing, scanning, copying and device management from your smartphone or tablet. Versatile paper handling includes an up to 20-sheeet automatic document feeder, bypass tray and up to 150-sheet adjustable paper tray for letter or legal-size paper. The 1.8 inch color display lets you navigate to powerful features plus print-from and scan-to popular cloud services including Google Drive(TM), Dropbox, OneDrive and more directly from the printer. Uses reengineered INKvestment Tank cartridges that work with the internal ink tank to automatically and continually supply ink to the tank for convenient printing. There’s no need to stop and refill the ink tank, the cartridges do the work for you. Pop out the empty cartridge and plug in a front-loading replacement and get back to printing.     Compré la impresora el 3 de febrero, el envío fue rápido y llegó sin mayor daño la caja. La instalación fue relativamente sencilla.Destaca por su conectividad estable, no he tenido inconvenientes a la hora de conectarme y mandar imprimir algún documento.La calidad de impresión es bastante decente tanto en color, cómo en B/N; usándola así en un 80% del tiempo, sin embargo, siento que son totalmente ineficientes los cartuchos, consumiéndose en menos de 1 mes la mayoría de los cartuchos, siendo más acusado en el color magenta cómo se evidencia en una de las imágenes.Recomiendo esta impresora siempre y cuando sea casi ocasional el uso o unas cuántas impresiones en el día, si no estás preparado para cambiar cartuchos cada mes o mes y medio.

      The speed of this printer is unreal. It prints on both sides of one page printing in less time than most other printers take to print for one side one page only. Also print time is quick when you hit the print button, it prints right away.

      I noticed my Canon would take a minute to print, to even start printing and got slower and slower over time.

      The real difference of this Brother printer from other printers is night and day. Its like going from a Yugo car to a Lamborghini race car.

      The quality of the software bundled with this printer is excellent, it even resizes email pages for you and properly makes page fonts bigger zoomed in, the software resizes everything to fit in the printable area. With Canon this was not available. Also Canon ink tank system failed on color, only black would print. No matter how much cleaning. Canon printer failed in one year time. Brand new Canon never worked right.

      We'll see how long this printer lasts, but it already sounds much stronger and faster in scanning, printing and setup time to connect to WIFI. Doesnt have the issues during operation. It works smoothly, and Not slow at all.

      Warning your WIFI router may need to be rebooted in order to recognize this printer on your wireless network setup on app, for your WIFI. Any computer, phone and tablet can print out stuff if you have the Brother app.

      I could never get the Canon WIFI network printer to work. And I have been a computer programmer for decades. Brother was a little tuff to setup on WIFI only because my router needed resetting to recognize the new Brother printer. But once you set this up it works flawlessly. Unlike other printers.

      My 10 year old Cannon bit the dust, had to get another printer quickly. I do a lot of home printing, not professional grade but it has to look good enough for legal docs etc. At $160 + tax this is not quite the cheapest but certainly not a bad price at all. I had wanted to try the ink cartridge type - all my older, cheap printers cost me a lot on the back end with ink, so we'll see how it goes. If the ink does last much longer, as claimed, then overall this printer will most likely be one of the most affordable I have owned. I was afraid my almost 70 year old brain might have trouble setting it up or connecting to wi-fi, but no, took me about 1/2 hour from box to network, everything went real smoothly. I have an iMac, which tend to be easier to connect to other devices, but it went up fine. Prints nicely and quickly, pictures and text, and scans fine. I just use my iMac's Printer and Scanner controls (in Systems Setting), so I dont worry about any proprietary scanner settings app. Easy peasy. Oh, except it started printing double sided on one job, dont know why. Easy to re-set it to single side, but I am looking forward to doing some double sided scanning/printing, which I will look into later. It printed on both sides of a page without the paper coming out or having to be reinserted - seems miraculous to me (In my day printers printed dotty streaky fonts and we liked it!). Overall, just what I needed. One other thing, it says you need to buy your own cable to connect to your computer. You do, if you want it direct connect, but I am just using it from the network so don't need one. But, the old printer to USB cable from my 10 year old Cannon fits into the printer end, so I expect I could use that if I ever want one. So, all good so far (couple of weeks). I will add to this review if anything goes wrong.

      Update: I've only had this printer for 8 months and it is a useless piece of junk. I've spent hours on the phone with Brother support, wasted gallons of ink "cleaning" it, and the print quality only gets worse and worse. I'm done with this thing and never buying another Brother product. This is ridiculous. My next step is to compel Brother to honor their warranty.

      After 12 years of hard service and expensive ink, I retired my HP printer and tried this Brother. Here are my first impressions:

      The Misses:
      1. I hate the 1980s grey plastic design. It looks like crap on my desk, particularly since all the rest of my computing equipment is black, but I was buying for functionality, not style, I guess.
      2. I have postage stamps that are bigger than the LED display on this thing. It's not easy to see and you have to scroll down to see some of the messages the machine is providing.
      3. The set up is kind of clunky and involved compared to other printers. Some set up is done on the machine, other parts are done by going to the Brother website where you have to figure out where to go to download the drivers. I was looking for something on the website home page that said "set up your printer here", but instead you have to hunt around.
      4. During the set up process, it asks to download several ancillary services. These are not well explained, and I may have inadvertently downloaded annoying bloatware. We'll find out.
      5. If you are considering printing photos with this machine, just stop and move on to something else. My HP was far better. The photos are crisp, but the Brother interprets certain colors in bizarre ways. For example, white tents are rendered in light blue. Looks very strange compared to the actual photo.
      6. The power cord on this is ridiculously short compared to my HP, and I pretty much had to change my entire desk set up to stretch the cord far enough to reach my power strip.
      7. It wouldn't kill Brother to give you a printer cord if you want a wired connection. Fortunately, I was able to reuse my HP cord THAT CAME WITH THE MACHINE.

      The Hits:

      1. Printing a standard page of text with an illustration or two is lightning fast. I've never seen an inkjet as fast as this.
      2. Standard printed text is very sharp.
      3. It's more compact than my old HP All in One, mostly because the paper tray doesn't stick out an extra 5 inches on the side.
      4. It is much quieter than the HP, which would go through a lot of noisy gyrations just get itself prepared to print.

      I'm not sure I did the right thing in buying this printer. I wanted to be thrilled, but so far I am not.

      This was beautifully designed and super easy to set up
      I am 82 and it was simple the ink cartridges was big and should last a long time placed at the front it was the easiest I have ever had
      Wish I would have bought this instead of the other almost disposable printers

      Was on sale because newer product is touch screen but the push buttons are great btw it has a color screen of readable size change the angle of screen to suit for easier reading

      Don't do a lot of printing but tired of buying cheap $50 printers and they don't even last a year. Was skeptical but friends recommended Brother printers and so glad they did. Like another reviewer said it was easy to setup and works great. Do very few faxes but so nice to have something in the house to use when needed. Bit pricey for me but totally worth the price. Like the feature of printing on both sides of paper without having to return paper to print on other side. Haven't had it that long but am glad I purchased and hope for a lasting experience.
