      I was looking for a wheelbarrow big enough for a 4/5-year-old, but most of them -- including some I originally had in my cart-- had reviews warning of them being actually smaller than they say. This Stanley Jr. one is exactly as described and is bigger, wider and deeper than the others. Plus, it happens to match Daddy's grown-up wheelbarrow -- perfect! I recommend for kids ages 2-6.

      We bought this for our 4 yo grandson. His mother is an avid gardener and he is a little helper. It is actually a very functional / sturdy wheelbarrow and is deep enough to actually hold a useful amount of stuff. He loves it !! I'm sure that it would have been fine as is but when I assembled it I made a few modifications (I'm kinda anal about some things LOL).. I put fender washers under the screw caps so that there was more surface area of the plastic being secured. I lightly sanded and put several coats of wipe on poly on the handles. The wheel is a nice ball bearing wheel BUT there was ~ 3/8" of play on either side of the axle so I added washers to remove the play. IMHO this is probably the best "toy" wheelbarrow on the market.

      My 4 year old (who is always trying to use my adult wheelbarrow) loves it. I bought this because I was tired of seeing him struggle to do his gardening. He’s absolutely smitten and appreciative of this useful and adorable tool. It’s sturdy enough for mulch, sand, snow, dirt but just the right size that the kids can’t overfill it past their lifting ability. I’d encourage them not to fill it all the way and store it out of the sun so the plastic lasts as long as possible.
