Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Never heard of this thing, til last night when it started buzzing. So, took a pic, looked it up and ordered it. Came today, and had it swapped out in about 15 minutes. Totally fixed the issue with our cable being out.
Make sure you are close to an outlet and you will need a coaxial cable to run between the outlet and the amplifier (not included). Ran my in-coming cable directly to the amp and straight to my router from there. DO NOT USE SPLITTERS!
I purchased this after reading how cable companies install these items to boost signals. Inside my home I also had 1 too many splitters so the first thing I liked about this product was the ability to plug in (so far) four direct lines to rooms or a floor. The four shown on the right to left. The first two, left to right are black from the cable company outside to my inside basement. The second, the white is a Coax cable that screws into the device and the other end screws into the device that plugs into the electrical outlet. So you need a (long) cable tv cable terminated at both ends in order to supply the electricity. THAT'S NOT INCLUDED. I had spares around the house. You may too.
What I did not like about purchasing this product was the lack of imagery for the electrical part plug in. I'll get a picture for you all. The second thing was Leary about was it was not what I ordered. Now I do not think what I ordered is available any longer and so I was sent the current item so no biggie. The bigger problem was NO INSTRUCTIONS IN THE BOX. Not one. I eventually found the instructions on the internet and was able to hook it all up.
And as you can see I have mounted mine to the house rafter in the basement on the ceiling. This way all of the cables stay up and along the ceiling.
Would I buy again? ABSOLUTELY YES. A little more than I wanted to spend but it immediately resolved my connectivity issues and eliminated splitters. I'll probably leave it in the home when I sell.
4.0 out of 5 stars
It does work and you might not get what you think you should have
