Overall Opinion: My first correspondence with OpticsPlanet - September 30, 2021: Before I purchased a case of Winchester USA SHOTSHELL 12 Gauge 1 oz 2.75" Centerfire Shotgun Ammunition from OpticsPlanet, I spoke with Jasmine on your Chat line. The ONLY question I asked her was if the bases of these shotgun shells were brass. She told me she had to ask tech. When she returned, she said she was told YES they were brass bases. I proceeded to purchase them at approximately 11:15am today. Now at approximately 6:00pm, I was looking online at pictures of these hulls and the bases appear to be ALUMINUM, not BRASS! I have already had to return 3 cases of Winchester Super X shells because my Remington 870 will not eject them - because the bases are not brass. I read that you do not accept returns for any reason - but, if these shells are not brass, I was out and out LIED to! If I had wanted the aluminum-based shells, I would have kept the 3 cases I had already purchased - at a much cheaper price per box I might add ($5.00 per box less than what you charged me)! First of all, I need you to assure me that the bases of these shells are brass. If they are not brass, I will refuse the order and will expect a full refund of my money immediately! Your timely response is expected and appreciated. OpticsPlanet's first response - October 1, 2021: Thank you for contacting us! We have confirmed with the specialist that they are a Nickle plated brass. He said they these should eject from your firearm. My second correspondence with OpticsPlanet - October 5, 2021: I don't know who your "specialist" is, but I just heard back from Olin Winchester and those shells have absolutely NO brass in the base! I will try and use them next week, but if I have issues ejecting them, I will return them to you when you arrange a UPS pick up. By the way, it's spelled nickel not nickle. OpticsPlanet's second response - October 5, 2021: I apologize for the inconvenience. For safety reasons, OpticsPlanet is not able to accept returns of ammunition for any reason, and no refunds will be issued for any returned ammunition. My third correspondence with OpticsPlanet - October 5, 2021: You will not honor a return when I was lied to about the bases being brass??? That's ridiculous!!! OpticsPlanet's third response - October 5, 2021: I have forwarded the information over to a supervisor to see if anything can be done. Once we hear back we can send you an update. My fourth correspondence with OpticsPlanet - October 10, 2021: I shot a box of the shells today. They weren’t quite as bad as the Super X shells were, but they are difficult to eject. I’m really disappointed with how OpticsPlanet does business. I will be letting my shooting friends and Yelp know of your business practices. OpticsPlanet's fourth response - October 11, 2021: I am truly sorry for the less than ideal experience you’ve had with us. I am showing the issue is still under review. We will keep you informed. I'm not expecting to hear anything from them again. Shoddy business practices to say the least!
Pros: Delivery was speedy.
Cons: Not backing up their products.
